The two men decided to wait until the kitchen at Neil’s house was finished before Marshall moved in. In the meantime, they figured out which of Marshall’s belongings would end up at the house and which he would leave behind.
Marshall said he didn’t want to sell his house for now. Instead, he would rent it out once he found someone who he knew would take care of it.
“It’s not,” he told Neil, “that I ever plan on moving back, because I don’t. But the idea of getting rid of it…” He shook his head. “I’m just not ready to quite yet.”
“I understand completely,” Neil said. “It’s part of you and has been forever. When the time is right, then you can sell it. But only to someone who will treat it properly, the way it deserves.”
