“Why do you live here? This place closed down like five years ago,” He questioned, anger apparent in his voice.
“Well,” I began before pouring everything out to him.
“I was supposed to be adopted by the old caretaker of the orphanage, but at the last minute, his wife got pregnant. So they decided they didn’t want me.” I paused, choking on a cry that found its way to my throat.
