I grunt as I feel my wolf waking me up. I silently curse as I flip over so I can sit up since I was on my stomach. I open up my eyes to see that my mate isn’t next to me so I breathe in deeply to see if he is in the room, but I cannot smell him. I want to mind-link him but my wolf is screaming in my head, so I sit up with my back against the headboard while opening up the link for my wolf.
Maximus: It is about damn time I got you to wake up. (He huffs in my head while pacing back and forth)
Me: Well excuse me for sleeping. What is the problem?
