CHAPTER 7

1295 Words
Dina stood frozen with shock. On one hand, she was extremely satisfied with what had just happened. No one has ever shamed or did something so unexpected to the great Alexander Choi and her best friend did it without flinching! 'That's my Luisa for you!' Dina proudly thought in her head. But her excitement immediately died down when she realized how much trouble Luisa would be in. She snuck a glance at her brother's expression. Instead of sheer hatred or a thirst for blood, his expression was just...blank. The great Alexander Choi was sitting on his hospital bed, completely baffled by what just happened. He stared at the torn paper on the floor and on his bed. He frowned. It was clear she didn't have enough money with how she looked so why she's so foolish to tear the check that can help her. This was something that has never happened to him before. For some odd reason, he found it amusing. That Luisa Ortega was really interesting... She's so different from what the rumors says. Did she change? Or perhaps she's actually like that?? When the edge of his lips pulled into a smirk, his eyes flashing with mirth, Dina stared at her brother like he had grown three heads. Was he crazy? Did he actually enjoy that? And Dina grew more surprised when he let out a smooth, low chuckle. "That daring woman, what was her name again?" He questioned the nervous Dina. He already knew everything about her, but wanted to tease and scare her sister for handcuffing him to the bed. Seriously, what type of little sister does that? She stared at his evil expression, an uneasy feeling growing in her stomach. His eyes were glowing with mischief and that was beginning to scare Dina. Dina gulped at his dark expression. She knew it all too well. He had that face when he wanted to ruin someone. "Brother, she's my closest friend. Don't hurt her. She's already experienced enough problems in her life." Dina pleaded, walking to him and clasping her hand over his. She always did that whenever she wanted something from him, and though it rarely worked, it was better than standing there and begging him. "You have plenty of other friends." Alexander coldly answered, showing no remorse for her position in his life. "Luisa and I have known each other since high school! Remember the sweet girl that used to come in our house, that was Luisa!" Dina was frustrated at his lack of empathy. "Remember how she used to cling to you? She was the one that always brought you tea, even though her hand would be scalded by it because she wasn't good at handling a teacup." Dina rambled on, completely unaware of the intrigued expression on his face. 'The one that brought me tea?' Alexander did remember an adorable girl with a ponytail following after him. She always greet him first whenever she came at the Choi's Villa. And then, when he left to went abroad because of their company, then came back she was suddenly gone. Alexander's expression darkened when he remembered what his parents told him. He was only gone for two years, and she suddenly became attached to some other boy, whose name was none other than Anton Salvatore. "Where does she live?" Alexander's question startled and terrified Dina who immediately shook her head no. "B-brother please have mercy on her, don't do anything rash." Dina's lips wobbled in fear. It had taken almost three long years for Luisa to get back onto her feet, and if she experienced another humiliation and breakdown, Dina wasn't sure if she would ever recover. Because Dina was standing so close to him, he could see the hairpins in her hair. He surprised her when he reached up to take one out and within five seconds, his handcuff was unlocked. "Hey! You can't do that!" Dina scowled, hating herself for wearing her hair in a bun today. If it wasn't for these damn hairpins, he wouldn't have been able to escape the handcuffs. Besides, where did he even learn and master that skill?! "I can do whatever I want." He talked to Dina as if she was still a stubborn brat and not a grown woman and it make her irritated.. She childishly stomped the floor and debated the idea of throwing her five inches stilletos at him. But she didn't have a death wish...but her hand was itching.. "Don't even think about it." He didn't even have to look at her to know what she was planning. He grabbed his phone from his suit pocket and texted someone. He stood, pulled out the IV drip on his hand, put on his coat, and slipped the phone into it. "You can't leave yet!" Dina huffed, but she knew she couldn't stop him regardless of what she did or say. "Really, you can't!" She whined, grabbing his arm and tugging him back to the bed. "Don't try to stop me. I've rested long enough." Alexander gently brushed her hand off and walked out of the door. His men, the people guarding the door, wordlessly followed after him. Dina scowled and followed him into the elevator. Parked in front of the hospital was a polished black limited edition of Maybach that was waiting for them. Right behind it was Dina's personal car. "Drive her back to the main mansion. She needs to clear her head." Alexander directed her driver before climbing into his own car. Dina's mouth fell to the floor. She couldn't believe he would send her back to the main mansion, she was going to be scolded by her parents for allowing him to leave the hospital! The driver walked out of the car and opened the door for Dina who climbed into the car, fuming and cursing her older brother. Ugh! Stupid brother! ......... Two hours later, Alexander received updates on Luisa Ortega for the past 3 years. After her divorce with that bastard Anton Salvatore, she was ruthlessly disown by her own family. To earn money, Luisa had to take on multiple odd jobs. Cleaner, dishwasher, waitress... She spent her times doing all sorts of menial labor. However, she was bullied and isolated at every single workplace due to her reticence and reluctance to socialize. This meant that none of her work lasted longer than a month. Three years of bouncing from one harsh working environment to another had taken a toll on her. Alexander was still surprised when he thought back to their encounter just a while ago. It seemed like she had aged tremendously since her divorce. He could barely recognize her anymore. If not for their chance encounter, he wouldn’t have known how much pain and cruelty she had endured... Nevertheless, there was one thing that puzzled him. Why hadn’t she used her alimony? Is her husband didn't give, her alimony? He knew from what she had investigated from before that even though Luisa Ortega is the Eldest Daughter of the Ortega family, she wasn’t a spender but even if she was, it was impossible to burn through the amount of alimony given by someone from Salvatore Family given in a short period of time. Alexander dropped the papers in his table and walked to the large windows overlooking downtown New York.. With a serious expression, he contemplated every information he got and coldly laugh. He give up on the girl when he heard that she fall in love with a boy her age. But it seems he shouldn't have done that. His cold eyes narrowed, and his aura turn murderous. It seems he had given enough face to the Salvatore’s but they didn't know how to cherish their lives.. ................
