Kezia turned towards the dressing table.
“We have delivered the necklace,” she murmured, “and I suppose we are going home tomorrow and so I will never see him again.”
“And a good thing too!” Perry said. “At the same time I have asked the Comtesse de Marnay to come to stay with us as soon as the house is finished.”
“The Comtesse?” Kezia asked.
“Lissette. She tells me that she has never been to England before and I think she would enjoy staying with us.”
