Chapter 8On the morning of the last day, Murphy insisted on taking Rhea out to breakfast. “Come on,” he said after she’d declined his offer twice. He tapped his desk with eager fists. “I know you don’t eat breakfast, but your protein bars in your desk are nasty. Come get some real food with me.” “MegaPower is real food. And they suit me just fine.” “Well, fine, then. Bring them with you and watch me eat my pancake breakfast. Come on,” Murphy said again, his smile turning devious. “I know it sucks that the case is going to go unsolved, but there’s a kind of freedom in that, right? You can let it go. And the three things that people want when they have freedom are just as obvious for us as they are for prisoners. Now, I can’t offer you s*x, and I don’t know what you want for the good stuff
