When I get back to Astrid, I go shower and get changed. I see the nurse has changed Astrid’s clothes and brushed her hair. I go and kiss Astrid’s forehead And see if Dekker and Jake are back. I find them in the games room with a few beers and playing a game of pool its a simple human pleasure one of my fathers guards brought back from the human world I go to the fridge and get a beer and settle in to watch Dekker and Jake play I start thinking about what happened today. The loss of life Astrid is going to be upset to know her so-called best friend was the one who tried to kill her and was her sister and her mother were also behind it. I take a swig of the beer and savour the bitter taste and watch Jake lose at the pool Game. He looks exhausted and broken, as does Dekker. I g
