If anyone had asked Hailey, she would have been honest and said that she was nervous to meet Cassandra. The woman was a major star and had a larger-than-life personality. She harkened back to the heydays of Hollywood in that she dressed like an old-time starlet.
Hailey suspected that the Cassandra interview would be like no other. Then there was the Noah factor. She'd agreed not to talk about him, but the biggest story in this situation was Cassandra breaking up with him.
She had no choice.
She studied him after her words and she'd seen him flinch. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt Noah. He'd turned out to be a nice guy. He was helping her out of a jam though not for completely unselfish reasons.
“Our breakup?"
“Yes. My editor insists. I wanted you to be warned."
