Drake's face had made his life a living hell. He was a man and people thought that men should be ruggedly handsome with six pack abs. Normally men are referred to as being handsome, but everybody called him pretty because he looked cute and pretty like a girl. He has fair skin and pink lips which attracts everyone's attention, no one was able to resist his beauty. The women in the office had not liked him that much because he was prettier than they were. They hated Drake due to the fact that he had drawn the attention of every man rather than it being on the women. It was not like he enjoyed the attention, It was just his face and body that attracted everyone. He had a thin body with milky skin and a slim waist that made him even hotter and more attractive. The formal clothes that he wore enhanced his features causing him to look even more appealing. He tried hard not to look cute and pretty, but he always failed. He had tried to wear baggy clothes and glasses so that he would look ugly so that people would not look at him. He had done this the entire time he was in college, but somehow it only made him look adorable and attract more eyes. From that point on he had given up and had just tried to live a simple life. Whenever he went to the office using the bus, everyone just stared at him. He always worked hard to avoid their gaze. He was the only one who knew how awkward it had been for him to live his life these twenty six years. The taxi stopped at the signal, the taxi driver had told Drake that they had arrived at the location. He shook himself out of his thoughts as he looked around, he paid the taxi fare then got out of the taxi. He had been searching the area in an attempt to locate Emma who was standing near her car with her arms crossed over her chest. She was looking angry. Drake ran towards Emma the moment she saw him she ran to him and hugged him tightly then shouted like crazy. He had returned her hug while they both stood there laughing. They both freed each other from the embrace so they could look at each other. “Drake, how did you find me? I only told you that I was in the country yet you were able to find me so easily,” Emma said with a smile to him. This was the first time he had seen her in years, but she had not changed even the slightest. It was crazy! “You had posted your selfie on i********:. I saw the board behind you in the photo and knew where you were,” Drake admitted as she hugged him tightly again. “Oh Drake, you really are my best friend,” she commented. “Okay, now tell me what happened,” Drake prompted Emma. That was when her face became angry as she glared behind her. A man was standing behind the two of them, it seemed that the longer Emma glared at the man the more enraged she became. “He bumped my car with his car then told me that I was at fault but I know I did not do anything wrong. Instead I tried to give him compensation, but he was not willing to listen to me,” Emma explained to Drake as he looked at the man. He went near that man and said. “What do you want?” Drake asked him in a casual manner, the man had an arrogant smile on his face. He was making a point of checking Drake out from head to toe. Drake was as usual feeling uncomfortable because he knew why he was assessing him like that. Drake had not shown any type of emotion on his face. “Say whatever you want to say. I don’t have time to waste with this,” Drake warned him with a smirk. “That girl bumped into my car then tried to give me money. I am not a beggar, ” he told Edward while Emma stood there frowning as she listened to him. Emma had always been a girl with a short temper. The moment that she had heard the man say that she had been about to slap him but Drake had grabbed a hold of her hand. He had predicted that she would do something like that which was why he had come here in such a hurry. He had no idea how she had been able to control her anger until now. Drake smiled at that man. “Yes, you are right. She does not have to give you money. You are not a beggar. Let’s go to the police station. We are surrounded by CCTV cameras so the Police will be able to decide who is at fault. Then the person who is at fault will be sent to jail for two or three years. Let’s go,” Drake suggested to him. Upon hearing Edward the man grew scared and began to look around. There was also a group of people that had gathered to watch and listen to them. What Drake had said was true, there were many CCTV cameras in the area. The man told him that he had not wanted to involve the police in this matter then he ran away from there. Emma watched as he sped by and laughed. Drake had really terrified him. Truthfully, Drake had lied to him about there being a punishment of two or three years in jail, he had just said it to scare him. “Wow, Drake, you handled that situation smartly! Today I finally got to use the advantage of your brain. You used to only use it on books.” Emma exclaimed as she hugged him. “He was just a low level fraud. He was just messing with you because he could tell that you are from another country and wealthy. He wanted too much money from you,” he said and now she understood why that man had been behaving like a maniac. Drake glanced down at his watch, it had been 45 minutes since he left. On top of that, if someone noticed that he had been missing from the meeting then he would lose his job. “Emma, I have to get back to work. I am already going to be late,” Drake confessed to her as he turned on his heel to leave but she hurriedly grabbed his hand. “Hey wait, how are you going to get back?” Emma asked him. She had seen him walk up, which meant that he had no car or Bike. “I will take a taxi,” Drake informed her as he said goodbye then tried to walk away but Emma stopped him. “Wait, let me drop you,” Emma offered. Drake glanced down at his watch again before accepting. He was already late and right now Emma was his best option. Emma had been driving quickly as Drake had been restlessly looking at his watch. Emma had been telling him about what she had been up to all of these years. What she had done? How she was living, family, friends and all of that. Drake had been listening and smiling at her. He was happy that she was happy. But Emma had noticed that he had only been listening to her and smiling but he had not told her anything about himself. She had been waiting for them to reach his office, which took about twenty five minutes. Drake had been about to sprint out of the car when Emma clutched his hand causing Drake to look back at her. She had a very serious expression on her face, she had something she wanted to say to him. Drake stopped and sat properly. He asked her what happened. "Drake, how are you? What have you been doing all of these years? I know it is late for me to ask you this, but I want to know how you are?" Emma asked him, her eyes clearly showed the concern she felt for him. "I am fine Emma as you can see, my brain is still working the same as before and I am happy," Drake evaded her question with a smile. Suddenly she was sounding serious. He could not understand what had happened to her. "Yes, I can see, your brain is working the same as before but what about your heart? Are you listening to your heart? Or are you wearing a mask of fake smiles to fool your heart into believing that you are truly happy?" Emma inquired, causing the smile on Drake's face to disappear. Now he understood what she had been trying to say, he leaned his head back and closed his eyes. "I don't know. I ask my heart that question too but the only answer that I have found hurts me. So much so that I don't know why I still ask. Maybe, I am fine," Drake opened his eyes and looked at Emma. She had been watching his face, having understood everything. Drake smiled at her then glanced at his watch. Drake hopped out of the car and closed the door. “Okay, Emma, drive safe,” Drake commented as ran inside the building. She smiled watching him then she checked out the building with a smirk before she drove away from there. Drake went directly to his department and noticed that everyone was looking at him, no actually they were staring at him. He walked to his seat then sat down. He could not understand what had happened to them. Why were they all looking at him like that? The most horrible thing was that the Manager was not there. At that moment, Lucy came over. “Drake, where were you? I told you not to leave, that you had to attend that meeting. Now you are in big trouble,” Lucy warned him now Drake got worried. He had no idea what had happened when he had not been here. He did not know the big trouble was waiting for him.
