Readers have been warned*** Vincent panted as quietly as possible, hiding in the one tree he'd been able to find that still had foliage. He had managed, just, to get out of his cell but now he had the problem that the area was obviously owned by someone with money. The entire yard was walled in, unusual in these parts except for the very wealthy. The yard was also kept neat and tidy, with no undergrowth to trip inhabitants up. This, of course, made it very difficult to hide and escape. He had to make his way out of here, somehow but the ground was already crawling with the hounds his captives kept.
