Chapter 3 : The Rules

Andrei looked around to the place where he was.

He is not alone in the world in which they were! He did not know how many were they but he estimated that they would reach fifty.

All the people that Andrei saw was almost his age. Twenty years old to twenty-five years old. Like him, they also looked around.

"Listen carefully as I explain why are you here at Thantanus and the rules of the game you entered!"

Everyone raised their heads.

"I'm Caronus, the creator of this game!" he introduced himself to everyone.

"You are all participants in the so-called, Angel of Death's Game on which your life depends!" his introduction.

“You know that you are on the brink of death, don't you? So if you want to survive and live, you must win the game! ” he added.

“In every game, you have to know what your objective and that is to win this game. Listen because I will only say this once! ”

"First, you will see in your right arm a device where you will see your level, skills, abilities, locations, and other statistics."

They all looked at their right arm and there they saw the device attached. It looks like a watch that encloses with a drawstring.

Andrei looked at it and observed it.

"Press the red button on your Arm Watch!" Caronus ordered them all.

Andrei pressed the red button on the side of the Arm Watch and there his statistics showed.

"If you notice, you don't have the tools in statistics yet," Caronus looked back at them.

"It is up to you how you will get what you need for this game!" he explained to everyone.

"Now I will explain this game!"

They all just listened to what he will say.

“This game is called ‘Survival for Life!’. Thantanum has ten places where the battle will take place. ” Caronus introduced the game.

“There are fifty participants in this game. In fifty participants, you can be divided into ten groups, which means that each group has five members. The selection of members in your group is random, meaning you will get to know your teammates when you go to the first level of the game. ”

All the participants looked at each other because of what Caronus said.

“Each group must pass each level of the game up to the last level which is level 10 because once you die in the first level you will not be able to return to your world! It means you are dead! ”

The participants swallowed their saliva because of what Caronus told them. Some felt fear and some decided to face the test so that they could all return and live in their world.

“At every level of the game, here you can find your equipment in the battle. By killing monsters or your opponents at each level, here you will get coins and use it to buy weapons, items, spells, and whatever else you can use to increase your level and statistics and to take you to the next level! ”

"You have to be strong, be smart and be careful because there are many monsters and other creatures you will face at every level because the number who return in the real world is five, which means only one group will return and survive to this game!" Caronus explained to everyone.

"I repeat, this is a survival game and whoever that completes this game will come back to life in your world!" he finished.

All participants were prepared because of his explanation of the game.

‘Who will be with me?’ Andrei asked himself.

He looked at his fellow participants. There are men and women, there look strong and weak. There were different nationalities because of their appearance.

Andrei knows that they all want to live so he is not going to be complacent.

"Are you already!" Caronus shouted at all the participants.

No one answered him because who would want to play a game where life is at stake?

"I understand you but now, get ready because you are going to level one of the game!"

Andrei sighed and got ready at the start of the game for his life.

Andrei thought that he would do everything he could to make this game a success for himself and for his family!

Andrei looked at his body which was slowly disappearing from his feet. He looked at his fellow participants and the same thing happened to them.

Andrei just closed his eyes because he could do nothing but accept his fate.

When Andrei opened his eyes, he was somewhere else.

‘Welcome to level one. You are nowhere at Arona, the city of the lost soul. ’

Andrei heard from his Watch gear.

He looked at it and he saw the map of Arona, where he had. He saw the map of the place and a little red light telling where he was.

"Are you with us in the group?" Andrei turned his back when there was someone talked to him

He saw four people facing him. Two men and two women.

"I am Aki, twenty-two years old, I am a Japanese," the man in the middle introduced to Andrei.

Andrei observed the appearance of Aki, Andrei was taller than Aki, his hair was golden yellow like the ones he was in animes. His body was well built, his eyes were round and his nose was a bit sharp.

"I am Roman, twenty-one years old, I am a Filipino," introduced another man on Aki's left.

Roman was a dark completion, he was not that tall. Her hair was black. His body was chubby. His eyes were quite narrow, his nose was not very sharp.

"Amira, twenty-two years old, I'm Nigerian," introduced a woman next to Roman.

Amira was tall, her skin was dark and her hair was very curly. She was tall as a woman and her body was just right, it was not skinny but it was not fat. Her eyes were round, her lips were dark but even so, she has a nice beauty.

"I'm Alicia, 23 years old and I'm from Ireland," another woman also introduced.

Alicia nodded, obviously, she was a shy type girl. Her skin was white, her hair was quite long up to her shoulders. Her body was modest, her hair has light brown highlights that suit her.

"I'm Andrei, twenty years old from Philippines," Andrei introduced them.

They shook hands.

"What are we going to do now?" Amira asked them all.

"We need to discuss our plans carefully because our lives depend on this game!"
