The author would like to thank Jason Mathews who was extremely helpful by candidly offering an inside view of day-to-day life of a prison and the roles correctional officers play. The author would also like to thank pigeon fancier Charles Carr for his considerable expertise in the breeding and racing of pigeons. Both injected a level of authenticity to the story that could not have been fabricated.
