For the first time, i came to the shore to watch the kids of my age play blissfully, laughing and always been cheerful when they saw their peers, and it turned to a route. Whenever I saw them play, I just wanted to get out of the water and play with them but I know what halts me from going close to them. My appearance!!!

I cannot get out of the sea and flaunt my tail with fins in fornt of them. They'll get scared of me. My grandma said the land walker are brutal to our kind, they hate us and kill us. So we can only save ourselves by sinking their every boat and ships.

I can only watch them from far and smile and laugh Whenever they play

I am SAPPHIRE and I am a mermaid, which Is a stigma to me, because I wish to be a human and live among their kind. I like almost everything about this part of the world.

There was a sacred necklace in our kingdom, it was hidden, and the name "Golden pearl necklace"

The legend recorded that there was a beautiful mermaid queen who had longed to be a human for a long time but she couldn't, she always went to the shore to watch the humans (Men) who worked on carving woods for boats and paddles. There was a restriction in the kingdom then, which is still... Even till now, but the laws then was so strict. She went up to the human land and found herself a human love, when she was pregnant she was thrown into the palace dungeon, she cried for hundred long years, until her eyes dried up and her tears turned into the golden pearl, her bones were found by the next generation, along with the pearl which was coated in poisonous sea weeds. This was the last story any of us ever heard. I honestly do not believe this story... Till my crave to become human got stronger, ‘the sea is not for me’ I always thought, ‘i will be a human’.

I really, really wanted to play with those kids so I scattered my grandma's things, she was a sea witch, a good one, and she has a lot of spells books, portions and other things and also her favorite hex book... Maybe they could be of help to me. The book had pages of pictures of the pearl, but it never showed anything more. I searched around the sea for it, and every wizard I know. I checked their holes until I found it in an old ship that sinked under the sea many years ago and finally found it. In one of the cabin inside the ship. The necklace is old and it string worn

I came out of the river as a mermaid and put the golden pearl necklace on and I became human.

These legs were so heavy to walk on, as it was my first time walking in the these sticks like things called legs. So, I crawled to the village naked, I remembered the kids I saw usually wear something on their body, I scrolled my eyes around everything on sight, the leaves, which were dried are of no use, till i found a sack, it's old and sandy, I crawl with it to the sea, dipped it in till all the sand were washed away before biting out three holes In it, to pass out my head and hands, I picked the second sack and was wondering what to do with it when a hefty looking fellow approached, I contained my whole body In the sack and used some pearl magic to seal it. Soon I felt like I was been lifted up and that's how I landed In the village.

The sack was still sealed for some more hours till it was opened.

"Who is this?" The voice a stranger was all i heard, I opened my eyes because of the countless voices around me.

Two little girls were standing by the hefty man who I hid from the other time, "Who are you?," they asked in almost the same time.

"I am Human?," I answered to get a mocking laughter from the both of them.

I stood up naked and smiled at them, "friend... Friend, I will be friends" I said smiling at all the children, having remembered that I have seen them by the banks lately.

"She's naked ah!" One of the look alike said, on hearing her words, I touched my body, the sack is loosed somehow which I do not understand. I screamed louder.

"Dont you have clothes? What is your name?," they both ask at the same time.

I did not reply, am not sure I can speak the way they do, i may only be able to understand what they say because mermaids understand more than 2000 languages.

I have never talked in the way they were talking with each other. In seas and oceans we didn't need any language to communicate. We could just read each others mind, (telepathy)

"Mother" they both ran inside and yelled. "There's a strange girl at our poultry."

Their mother came out, "Little girl, where are you from?," she asked.l after taking the first glance at me, I did not repy, I do not know what to say, She walked to me and I could see the reflection of my necklace in her eyes, she was going to snatch it. She was gazing at my necklace cockily and carefully with those pairs of greedy eyes.

With a slow and cunning steps, she walked to me and snatched my necklace from my neck, which made me loose my new stick like legs, I fell down in the ground.

They all stared at me, looking confused and dumbfounded, with my appearance, I can only say they would kill me, the villagers here are evil just like grandma said. The woman poured some powder on me, making me loose my breath slowly and become weak.

I woke up in the house of am elderly man, he wore a dirty appearance, unshaved hair and black clothing, He wasn't surprised to see a mermaid, I mean me. He instructed everyone to return to their home safely and then, then assured them that he would kill me.

At midnight, he came to me and asked," Little mermaid, why did you leave the sea ?,"

I couldn't communicate much in the human language. Hence, I communicated with him in the form of telepathy and explained him that I don't want to stay in the sea anymore.

After a long thought, he talked to me and told me that he had also married a mermaid. She was a beautiful mermaid and they loved each other a lot. Soon, they had a child together, a merman. But, soon the villagers got to know that she was a mermaid and she was killed brutally by the villagers.

At that time, he had pretended that he didn't know her and he carried his son and freed him back to the sea.

He was kind enough that he gave me my necklace back to me and told me to run away and save myself.

The warriors of the kingdom of the sea came to land to find out who stole the necklace from the safe. I was wanted in both sea and on the land by villagers. I followed a fisherman's boat to to the other side of the land, took their net and a container to keep fish.

I tried to fish with the net but I couldn't so I looked around, there was no one, so I took off the necklace and jumped into the river, pursued a school of sardines and caught some sardines I sat by the rock and sit to tears them with my teeth.

It stained my sack and after eating, I jumped into the sea so the blood could wash off.

After meeting the land boy, I decided to follow him to where he was going. I was wanted around here.
