The Boss Monster of the Forest of Illusion [Galgix] has appeared

When the ringing sound of the notification windows signifies the arrival of the Wolf Duo, Grimm didn’t waste any time and immediately engage into battle.
“Eat this!” Grimm sends two consecutive Kickscythes towards the wolves.
However, with their high agility and reflexes, the wolves effortlessly dodged his attacks. Tukk! Tukk! There was an impact sound of his projectile kicks hitting the trunks of the trees. Were Garuru and Galgix stared at Grimm and started baring their fangs. And once their eerie eyes confirmed Grimm as their target, the duo dashes like a blur to opposite directions and charges towards him with their pincer attack.
It was the same strategy that made Grimm run away during their first encounter. They are both hard to handle Boss monsters and they are approaching from opposite directions. If Grimm defends against one, his back will be wide open to the other. And even if he uses his speed to dodge the back attacker, his stats on Agility are still not enough to completely outmaneuver the wolves. So even with all the defensive ploys his avatar can generate, a huge percentage from his Health points will still be shaved. Gradually, his Health will be sunk into a critical level where he will surely lose his life if he doesn’t choose to flee.
‘Sorry but that won’t happen tonight.’
Though his next action looks like an unwise decision considering that Galgix is the stronger one between the two. Grimm chooses to charge towards Were Garuru and gives his back to Galgix.
However, that is all part of the plan.
Grimm uses the Perfect Feint to Were Garuru, giving it a vision of him unleashing a sword attack. When it reaches the wolf’s senses, Were Garuru instantly activated his skill and engulfed himself in fire.

The wolf leapt forward and swipes his claws for the clash.
It was too late for him to realize that it was just an illusion. And the next thing it knows, its head had already collided towards a wooden statue. And not just Were Garuru, another wooden statue also dropped in front of Galgix. Though unlike Were Garuru, Galgix managed to dodge.
What just happened? And where did those Wooden Statues came from?
During the time that Grimm attacked the wolves…….
When Grimm had first attacked the Duo, the Kickscythes he’d sent were never really meant to hit them. Its true goal is to cut the vines that are keeping the Wooden Statues that Grimm prepared hanging above the trees.
Before the battle, Grimm measured the acceptable distance between him and the wolves, count the time it will take for them to reach him, memorized their reaction time, computed the amount of height the Wooden Statues should be lifted as well as the time it will take them to reach the ground once they fell.
All of those were meticulously calculated by Grimm for the main purpose of disrupting the synchronization of the Duo and to create an opening to land a clean blow to either one of them. And Were Garuru, being the weaker between the two was the one chosen to receive the first blow.
Back to now….
The trap was a success. Were Garuru became defenseless while Galgix was forced to step back.
Grimm didn’t waste even a tenth of a second of this opportunity and instantly move beside the Were Garuru to release a strike.
“Magnum Impact!” Grimm unleashed the skill directly to the rear leg and tail.
Skweesh!!! Ssplak!!!
A deafening sound of a blade slicing through a flesh echoed throughout the area. And with the combined effect of the Magnum Impact and Grimm’s brute strength, Were Garuru was thrown like a crashing meteorite towards the ground.

Grimm smiled widely. ‘That would keep its pesky presence unavailable for a while.’ He thought as he heads towards Galgix.

Despite being a Boss Monster, Galgix’s skills are no different from Were Garuru. He is just the more durable version of his partner. And like what Grimm had mentioned before, the true extent of the Wolf Duo’s true power lies on their Unite Skill, the ability to raise each other’s stats when they are together.
Therefore, when Grimm severed that, Galgix and Were Garuru are just oversized versions of their species.
Grimm danced around brandishing his sword flamboyantly towards the fire-clad Galgix. He went to attack and defense while luring it into creating a distance gap between them and the downed Were Garuru. Grimm is well aware that both the Were Garuru and his Perfect Feint will be back after 5 seconds. So he needed to extend the time it will take for Galgix’s partner to rejoin the fray or else there won’t be enough time for him to utilize the next attack.
When the 5 seconds expires, Were Garuru recovers back to his feet and charges towards them to assist Galgix. However, Grimm had already created a distance where it will take the Were Garuru, with its injured leg, at least 2 seconds to reach them.
Within that short timeframe, Grimm baited Galgix to create a gap on his defense through the Perfect Feint.
When Galgix bit it, Grimm immediately unleashes the combination of his two most powerful skills. “Nine Headed Naga Strike!”

And just like what happened earlier to Were Garuru, Grimm’s sword skill and brute strength had also sent Galgix flying. However, this time around, Galgix didn’t crash to the ground alone.

That fall had serves as the inauguration of the Wolf Duo’s demise. Grimm bombarded them with heavy and consecutive sword attacks, targeting their weak points specifically the legs and paws. Ensuring that even if they recovers back to their feet they can still be easily knocked down back to Off-Guard status.
Eventually, both the wolves’ Health Bars dropped to critical level. But out of respect towards their pride as the strongest monsters in the forest, instead of casually finishing them off, Grimm challenges them for a final showdown. No schemes, no tricks, just a clash of powers at its purest.
With this, even though Grimm’s Health is still at 40% while the two wolves are nearly dying. Just one solid blow from their combined attacks will surely finish him off. The wolves understood the gesture and accepted the challenge.
Side by side, the Wolf Duo burst into flames and rushed forward as fast as their weakened bodies could generate to execute their final attack.
Grimm met them in a head on confrontation and swung his sword from right to left. His blade sliced first through the Were Garuru, obliterating his remaining health.
“Magnum Impact!” When it was the sturdier Galgix’s turn to meet his blade, he activated his sword skill and dealt the finishing blow.

Grimm frowned upon reading the content of the quest notification. Sure, the reward weren’t that bad but was that all? With all outrageously troublesome tasks that he had to accomplish in order to gather all the eight fragments from the Eight Kings of the forest, he was expecting something that is a little more…flashy.
Grimm shook his head. “Surely, that can’t be all.”
He pulled out the other six from his bag and gathered all the black spheres within his palm.
“Alright Mr. Night King, show me something interesting.”
The recovery quest might have been completed but the Essence was still in eight pieces. Surely, they are not called ‘Fragments’ if they’re not meant to combine for something.
Grimm then waited for something to happen when he flocked all the fragments together. However, seconds and then minutes had passes by but the fragments still remained unmoved against his hand.
‘Not even a spark of blue light or a tiny tremor.’ Grimm hung his head down in disappointment. ‘All those troubles just for eight shiny marbles?’ “Unbelievable!”
‘If this is all there is then undertaking the quest and fighting all those special monsters was far more fulfilling than the quest reward itself.’
Grimm sighed and almost packed the fragments to his bag while forcing himself to accept the outcome the way it is when suddenly, something snapped on his brain when the word ‘special monsters’ was mentioned.
‘Wait the minute.’ He stared at the fragments again. “Eyes of Knowing!”
