Luci She’d seen both Rafe and Jack watching from outside the back of the packhouse with Thatcher, who her father had left in their care, while they were out in the woods. She’d already heard Thatcher whine about not being able to go off into the woods with them. He had looked up at their father and pouted at him like he always did when trying to get his own way. Had stated, “Can’t I go with you, ride Rali?” he’d whined. Though she honestly thought the boy was too old for that, he was 10. Luci had seen her father think about it for about 15 or 20 seconds, before he’d dismissed the idea altogether, Luci had thought he was going to allow it for a minute, not that it really bothered her; if he was allowed to go or not.
