No longer my heir

Aurora's pov

I have no idea how long I've been crying but the tears won't stop flowing, my mind keeps replaying the hate I saw on my mother's face, its like I'm stuck in a loop and it just keeps playing over and over again. How does a person change so quickly, my mother adored me just this morning, how can love change so fast. More tears ran down my face as my heart broke over and over again.

I didn't notice that I wasn't alone, I didn't hear the door open or the footsteps approach, that's why the voice of my mother startled me when I heard it. "How could this happen, you are my first born how do you have no magic!" she yelled at me. I got into a sitting position with my head hung low, I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. "Look at you, human and weak, how will you lead a coven of witches if you have no magic.. tell me how!" she continued. 

"Do you have any idea how much you have shamed me, my family name! do you!. all the power that runs in our blood and you chose to be human" she whispered but I heard her and that made me raise my head and look at her baffled, "how can you possibly blame me for this, I did not choose to be born human mother please" I pleaded with her not even daring to look her in the eye.

My two seconds of courage disappeared just as they appeared when I raised my head to look at her, if looks could kill.... well you know the rest, the hatred I saw in her eyes was more than enough to make me cower and lower my head. She laughed evilly as she slowly inched toward me, "look at you, pathetic" she spat. She crouched in front of me and grabbed my face painfully forcing me to look at her, "you are no heir of mine" she said venom dripping off of every word. I winced in pain as she pulled the necklace she put on me earlier that day off, without another word she walked out and slammed the door. New tears formed in my eyes as a new wave of pain hit and sobs raked my body, with no strength in my body I just laid there crying until I fell asleep from exhaustion.

Sam (Aurora's father) pov

  "Rora it's ok" I yelled after my daughter as she ran in the direction of the house. I turned my eyes towards Sara and the look in her eyes wasn't one you give to your daughter. I knew the coven had issues with humans but they couldn't do anything about it considering the fact that my company was the main source of funding. I hated how they all looked at her with shame, pity and hatred. My wife turned her eyes to me just in time to catch a glimpse of the scowl on my face before I turned and ran after my daughter. 

When I walked into the house I heard her cry and immediately ran in the direction of the crying. I reached her room in record time but before I could open the door, Sara appeared beside me and held my hand back, startled a bit a jumped back, of course she teleported, with a gentle smile on her face she said "let me talk to her, you go wait down stairs". Reluctantly, I walk back down stairs thinking maybe she had a change of heart.

I walked into the kitchen just as Laura walked in, she looked at me with a pained expression, I held my arms open and she ran to me. I hugged her tightly as she sobbed, "there there" I comforted her gently stroking her hair. She pulled back and looked at me, "dad I heard the coven say she isn't welcome here and that she is a disgrace and that she has to be thrown out, will they take her away" she asked new tears forming in her eyes. I crouched down to her level and reassured her that it will never happen, she smile a bit but it was quickly wiped off as we hard yelling coming from up stairs. 

I told Laura to go wait for me in me playroom next to living room while I went to check on her sister. just as I reached the hallway, I saw my wife walking out of the girl's room with a sour expression. I fast walked to her and confronted angrily, "what did you do", she stood in front of me looking angry, "what needed to be done" she walked passed me toward our bedroom. I went after her and once inside I slammed the door shut. I glared at her and she glared back, "tell me Sara what is it exactly that needed to be done" I yelled at her breaking the silence.

"You do not understand the ways of my people Sam stay out of it" she said with a deep sigh turning to sit on the bed. "I'm right here, all ears, make me understand" I said with slight frustration, "do you not understand that I am the queen, she is my first born, my heir, how will she rule without magic, her being human  is weakness, its a disgrace to my family name, to my bloodline and I won't allow it Sam" she yelled back at me. "What kind of mother says that about their child" I said disappointment lacing my voice. "The kind that has to suffer the pain of abandoning their daughter to show strength to her people or deal with the death of her child, non magical children are sacrificed in order to eliminate the weak link in the coven and I will not have my precious little girl killed" she said defeated " I would rather show her animosity than lose her for good" she said dejected

I walked to the bed and sat next to her as I let what she just said sink in, glad our bedroom was soundproof, I hugged her as she began to sob in chest. I shut my eyes cursing their barbaric nature, maybe the stories we were told as children were true, witches do eat children and I'll be damned if anyone touches my little girl. she pulled back and looked me straight in the eye as if daring me, "promise me you will look after her Sam please promise you'll look after my little girl" she croaked fresh tears falling down her perfect face. "She will need you, she will lose her friends and her people, they will shun her. You are all she has left"

"I swear to you my dear mate that I will love her and protect her enough for the both of us and if anyone tries to harm her it will be the end for them" I said the last part with a dark expression. I would die first before I let any of those barbaric creatures hurt my little girl in any way.
