{Sophia’s POV}
“Finally finished!” I said defeatedly, flopping down on the couch in my office. This was my fourth photo shoot today, and I was completely exhausted. Soren was sitting on the opposite side of the couch, and our friend Kai was sitting on my desk.
“You need to stop scheduling so many photos for one day Soph!” Kai said, picking up my name plate and playing with it. Kai is 5’7, lean, and fit. He has green eyes, and shaggy brown hair, the tips of it dyed light pink. He’s Japanese, American, and he is a model, like most of my friends.
“Seriously Sophia, you’re working yourself too hard. When was the last time you ate?” Soren said, his Amber eyes looking over my body. I was always kind of slim thick, and I admit, I’ve lost some weight recently. Soren was tall, his body fit, slightly bulky. He’s the tallest in our friend group standing at 6’8. His hair is dark brown, long on top, and shaved on the sides. He had the top left down and shaggy today.
“I.. um.. I actually don’t know..” I said, trying to think back. My hair is long, down to my thighs and dark brown. I never wear it down, haven’t for years. It’s alway up in a braided bun, that sits on top of my head. I’m the shortest person in our group, standing at only 4’11, I’m a photographer, they’re all models. Most of us met through work over the years, some of us have known each other longer. I met Kai in middle school, and Soren, I’ve known him since I was in diapers. He’s six years older than me, but we’ve always been close.
Kai tossed down the name plate. “Seriously? You really need to take better care of yourself!” He said, getting up and walking over to the other side of me. “What do you want to eat princess?” He asked, calling me the nickname that most of them do. They always made me laugh with that, but sometimes it left a strange feeling in my chest.
“Hmm..” I mumbled tapping my finger on my chin as though I was thinking. “How about.. Chinese takeout? We’ll go back to my place and all get comfy!” I said, sitting up and looking to the two of them.
“Yes! I was hoping you were going to say that! Sleepover at Sophia’s place!” Kai cheered as he stood up, walking around the couch, pulling out his phone, and looking at the menu from our favorite place. “The usual?”
“Always!” I said, sitting up and standing too quickly. Suddenly I felt light headed, my body beginning to sway, falling forward.
“Soph!” Soren stood from his place, catching me before I hit the floor.
“Are you okay?” Kai asked, he was on my other side.
“I’m fine, sorry.. just got dizzy. My sugar is probably low.” I said standing myself up, laying my hands on Soren’s abdomen. I rubbed up and down, looking up to him. “You working on an eight pack under here?” I laughed.
He shrugged. “Don’t hate me cause I’m beautiful!” He jeered.
I rolled my eyes, laughing, and made my way to my desk. I pulled out a pack of gummies and shook them. “Anyone else want some?” I asked, opening them and pouring some into my mouth.
“Only if you feed them to me!” Soren said, sitting back down on the couch, and sprawling out. They were both still keeping an eye on me, I could tell with how their faces still looked worried.
“Okay, counter offer, I’ll only feed them to you, if you rub my feet!” I said, flopping down beside him and propping my legs up into his lap.
“Fine!” He said, pulling off my shoes and tossing them across the room. I popped a small handful of skittles into his mouth, then m***** softly as massaged my feet. They both looked at me, with weird expressions on their faces, before I poured another mouthful of gummies in.
“Are you ordering the food, or do you want me to do it?” I giggled, turning to look up at Kai.
“I’m going, I’m going! If you want the room to yourself just say so!” He said, turning and walking out the door.
“Did you want to be alone with me for something?” Soren said, digging his thumb into the bottom of my foot.
I held back the m*** that threatened to escape me before shaking my head. “Why would I want to be alone with you? You’re so bratty!” I laughed, giving him another mouthful of gummies.
Kai walked back in. “Alright, foods called in, just gotta go pick it up!” He said motioning for the door. “So who wants to drive?”
“What do you mean? I drove you here Kai!” Soren said, tilting his head back and laughing.
“I brought my bike today, you’re welcome to ride with me!” I laughed back at Kai.
“Don’t think I won’t!” He said, walking over next to the couch. “But you have to drive slow..”
“I didn’t buy a motorcycle so I could drive it slow!” I laughed out. “Why don’t you guys go on and pick up the food, I’ll finish closing and locking up my office, and I’ll meet you at the house.”
“Fine!” Soren sighed standing and making his way past me on the couch, he leaned down kissing the top of my head. “Drive safe, at least!” He finished, leaving the room. Kai followed directly behind him.
Once they were gone I put my camera away in its case, grabbed it, and my laptop case and headed out the door. I closed and locked my office behind me and ran to the parking garage. I safely hooked my laptop and camera into my saddle bags, and pulled on my pale pink helmet that Soren got me for my birthday. I started it up, and made my way out of the parking garage.
It wasn’t until I got out that I noticed it was pouring the rain. I made my way home, as safely as I could. By the time I made it home Soren and Kai were waiting out front. I pulled into my parking spot and shut off my bike. Quickly getting everything out of the bag and running up to my door. “D*****!” I fumbled with my keys until I got the door open and finally ran in. Kai and Soren close behind me.
“You should have waited at the office, we didn’t realize it was raining so hard until we had already left. We looped back around to get you but you were already gone.” Soren scolded.
I was soaked to the bone, and my skin felt like ice. “It’s fine, I didn’t realize it was even raining until I had already gotten out on the road.” I sat down my stuff on the counter and ran into my room closing the door behind me. “Go ahead and get comfy, I think you guys have pajamas here. I’m just going to rinse off and change. I’ll be right out!” I said from behind the door, walking into my bathroom and closing that door as well. I quickly showered, and got out washing my face to get off my makeup. I wrapped my towel around me, and walked back into my room.
