As the bedroom door closed behind me, I leant back against it. Every fiber of my being, including Hope, was begging me to go back in there, to make Heather's scent non-existent, as I replaced it with my own. But I couldn't. Despite the absolute agony, I couldn't go back. Judah needed to know it wasn't okay, otherwise I was setting myself up to watch more of his little friends interact with him... to touch him. I shuddered at the thought. I heard the shower flip on behind me, pushing myself to go back down stairs before his clean scent lured me back inside. When Judah joined me downstairs, I greeted him with a tight embrace, my head snuggling into his neck as I inhaled his now uniterupted scent, "Mmmmmmm" I hummed and sighed in relief "better" as I pulled away.
