Chapter 3Not wanting to turn up late, Jacob rang Noah’s doorbell at twenty past six and hoped he wasn’t too early. However his worries evaporated at the delighted grin on Noah’s face. “Hi, good to see you, come in,” Noah said. “Thanks. Sorry I’m a bit early.” Jacob set down his bag. He hoped Noah liked his menu and the ideas he and his sister had to make the house more home-like. “It’s no problem. I have a taxi booked to take us to the restaurant. Just in case we want some wine.” Noah moved to stand closer to Jacob. “Good idea,” Jacob said.
