Chapter 19: Asking Out in a Date

1167 Words
I stared at Ty in shock while he seemed pissed off. "Um . . ." I didn't even know what to say. "You are skipping class on your first day?!" he yelled. I flinched. There goes his teacher self. Honestly, he was so rude and strict when he behaved like a teacher. "Don't you realize that you are in grade 12 and that you need to attend all your classes to get admission to the university?" he yelled. "Just what are you doing in front of a library?!" I flinched. Nobody has ever yelled at me like that. I was such a good kid in my actual high school when I was much younger. But I couldn't explain to him that. "Today, since it is your first day," he said. "I will give you a small punishment." Punishment? WHAT THE HECK?! I NEVER GOT ANY PUNISHMENT IN MY WHOLE LIFE AND NOW I HAD TO GET PUNISHED BY MY OWN STUPID DUMB HUSBAND?! I wanted to smack him hard and kick his butt, but I ignored the thought and remained calm. "Follow me, Naila," he said with a strict voice and began to walk away. I sighed. I quickly followed him before he again yells at me. He walked straight to the science lab and slide the door open. "Come inside," he ordered. I nodded and then went inside and saw the whole lab was filled with empty box-shaped clear glass containers. "There are actually around 20 frogs that we had in this lab for observations but," he sighed as he went near a corner and bend down and picked something up. I didn't realize what he picked until I saw that he picked a frog from a corner. "EW!" I screamed as I jumped up and down. "Put that thing away! Put it away!" "Quit whining," he sighed as he put the frog in one container. "You are such a kid." "What did you say?!" I yelled in frustration. Ty looked at me coldly and I backed down. Calm down, Jess. Stay in the character. I kept telling myself. I was a student. I could not yell at him like that. Ty noticed me calming down and then said, "There were 20 frogs in a huge container but when I tried to put them in this small box-shaped container, they escaped and now are hiding in this lab. Find the frogs for me and put them in the container. That's your punishment." I looked at him, horrified. "Frogs?" I asked. "Yeah, frogs," he sighed as he went hunting for another frog. I wanted to cry. How could he be so cruel? He knew I hated frogs since I was a kid. But . . . I looked at myself. He didn't know that I was Jess now. But still, how could he be so cruel?! I wanted to cry. Suddenly, I heard a sound from my side. I looked at my side and saw a frog. "Ewwwwww!" I yelled as I jumped on top of the laboratory table. "Get away from me! Darn it! Get away!" "Keep your voice low," he sighed as he went near the frog and before he could catch it, it jumped on a table that was beside the table where I was standing. I burst into tears. "Ahhhhhhh! The frog is going to eat me!!!" I didn't stop crying until I noticed Ty flicked his finger on my forehead lightly. It didn't hurt me but it made me stop cry. Ty sighed. "What are you? A 2-year-old kid?" I looked at him in frustration. "What am I?! Darn it! Sometimes, I wonder what you are?! I feel like you are a MASOCHIST!!" I gasped as I realized what I said. I looked at Ty and noticed how furious he looked. "What did you say?!" he yelled. Crap! Why did I have to pick a fight with Ty?! Especially in my student disguise? Student + teacher = enemies Not a good combination. "That's it," he sighed. "Today after school, you have detention for 2 hours." "2 hours?" I asked. How was I going to go home before Ty then? "Yes, 2 hours. Now, leave from here," he said strictly. I whipped my tears as I noticed him picking up frogs. Jerk teacher! I got off the table and stuck my tongue and before he could yell at me, I ran out of the lab room. I ran to the washroom and hid there. Since it was girls washroom, so he couldn't find me. Good job, Jess. I laughed. Now that evil teacher wouldn't find me. Suddenly, my phone rang. I took out the phone and noticed that the phone was from Ty. Really? Didn't I just run away from him? I sighed as I coughed and picked up the phone. I needed to act like Jess now, not Naila. "Hello Ty," I said. "Hey Jess," I heard his voice which seemed so much clam and sweet. Wow! What is this? Change of voice or something? He was so rude a while ago. "How are you?" he asked. "Good," I said. "How are you?" I wished I could say I was good until you tortured me with those frogs. "Tired. I had an argument with one of my student," he sighed. "Really? Well, judging your voice, you don't sound like you are angry," I answered. "Yeah because now I am talking to my wife, not with my student," he chuckled. I felt the heat rushing on my cheeks. I used my other hand to cover my face from blushing. "You know, I can never speak rudely to you," I heard his sweet voice. Suddenly it felt like all the anger that I was holding in my chest about him draining away and my heart was filled with warmth. "Um . . ." I didn't know what to say. He made it all awkward and cheesy. "I will be home late today," I heard him say. "Oh." "I have detention with that little brat student after school," I heard him sigh. Little brat?! How dare you, stupid Ty?! "So, I will come home late. I am thinking maybe we should go out and eat, instead of cooking today," he said. "Alone?" He laughed as I frowned. "Yeap. It will be me and my wife. All alone," I heard him laugh. I snorted. "Okay, stop laughing. I just said it out of blue." "My innocent Jess, what would I do without you," he sighed. "Stop acting like an old man," I said. "Okay then," he said. "I will go home and pick you from there. Is that okay?" I smiled. "Yes," I said. "Okay then, I will talk to you later," he said. "Bye," I smiled and cut the phone call. I sighed. This was dumb. One moment I was witnessing Ty's sweet self and another moment I was witnessing Ty's rude self. Just how long do I have to keep playing this triple role?
