Chapter 2: The Shocking Meeting

960 Words
I sighed in annoyance as my sister, Sarah, put on my hijab. "Aww! Look at you, Jess," she smiled as she hugged me from behind as we watched our reflection on the mirror that was in front of me. "You look so beautiful." "Sis, this is not necessary," I sighed. "Of course it is," she snorted as she pushed down my red hair inside my hijab that was sticking outside. "You know, sometimes I wish that I had your looks. I mean, you literally got the look of dad. Like you got hazel eyes and red hair," she smiled as she hugged me from behind. I sighed. "You know how much bullying I went through in middle school for this, right?" I asked. That's right. I did have red hair and hazel eyes and I got that look from dad. And why did my dad had that look? It's because he wasn't a Pakistani immigrant as my mom. He was British. Mom had brown hair and raven eyes and dad had red hair and hazel eyes and he wasn't even Muslim. He was an atheist. Mom told me that dad used to volunteer in a store beside a Mosque and when he began to see Muslims there and began to see how Islam was so much scientific, he began to fall in love with Islam. He converted to Islam when he was in college and then in university, he fell in love with mom and got married to her. And that's how my sister and I came into this family. I looked at my hazel eyes in the mirror and sighed. It always brings bad memories to me about when I was a little kid and I used to get bullied just the fact that I didn't look like a Pakistani or English. I just looked . . . mix. Like my skin was tan but my hair was red and my eyes were hazel. It wasn't a common thing to see in people. "Enough about the sad things, Jess," Sarah said as she held my cheeks. "Now smile." I sighed and took out my teeth as I smiled, which made me look like a monster. "Jess!" "Okay, sorry," I said. I smiled nicely and said, "That worked?" "Definitely. Tyran is going to love this," she said as she began to make me stand. "You just have to talk to him and say, 'yes,' to the marriage if you like him." "Yes, I know, sis," I sighed. We got out of the room and said bye to our parents and took Sarah's car and began to drive. While we were driving, I looked at my phone and noticed a text message there. I looked at the text message and noticed that it was from Agent Wilson. It had all the information about Starlight Colligate Institute. I began to read the details of the school and there was a list of teachers with their name and with a photo of the teacher. I began to read the timetable of mine that I was going to use in September when I would disguise myself as a student and would be attending the classes. The timetable stated that I had a history with T. Salvin, English with M. Woo, French with S. Rossè, Math with K. Lile . . . The names went on until my eyes fell in biology. My most hateable subject. I always sucked in biology and when I looked at the teacher's name, it was written: T. Ishfaq T. Ishfaq? Sounds Familiar. Where did I hear that last name? I then looked at the teacher's photo. T. Ishfaq was also there, wearing jeans and a shirt. His raven hair had a few curls near the hem oh his ears. His eyes were blue and his skin tone was tan. It looked like as if he was a mix baby, like half Asian and half Italian. And boy, he looked younger than all the other teachers. It made me wonder how old was he actually. I read the text more and it seemed like T. Ishfaq was also going to be my homeroom teacher. Our car stopped in the parking lot of a coffee shop. I got out of the car, as well as sis. She went behind me and began to push me towards the coffee shop. "Okay, so here is the plan," she said as she was still pushing me towards the entrance of the coffee shop. "Tyran's dad is sitting in a different chair and I will be sitting in a different chair. Only you and Tyran will be sitting in one table and talk and we will just keep an eye on you." "Okay," I sighed as I crossed my arms as she still kept pushing me inside the coffee shop. "There," she said as she pointed at one man that was seated near the window seat. I looked at the man and notice that he was reading a book and was wearing glasses. So, I couldn't see his face yet. "Okay, go ahead and talk to him," she said as she pushed me away. I snorted and began to walk towards the man. As I went near the man, I took a deep breath and said, "Hello." The man took down his book and looked at me. My eyes widened. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This man . . . He has the same face as my biology teacher! Even their name . . . T. Isfaq . . . So, T is for . . . My eyes widened. T was for Tyran and I was supposed to marry this guy?! The guy who was my teacher would be my own husband?!
