Chapter 24: The Action

1455 Words
I watched how Ty was cutting the vegetables for the stir fry noodles. While I put the noddles for boiling, I sat on the kitchen counter and watched Ty. "So tomorrow you are going on the trip?" I asked Ty. "Yes," he answered as he was cutting the vegetables so smoothly as if he had done cooking for years. I wasn't good at him or expert like him in cooking, but I was learning. "You are going to be back after 3 days," I said. "Yes," he chuckled and then looked at me and smirked. "Why are you asking me this? Are you going to miss me?" I blushed and looked away. Like I would! I was going with him on the trip! Idiot Ty! I again looked at Ty. My eyes were run down to Ty's messy hair and his well-built biceps. I couldn't stop admiring Ty. Ty looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and felt a tint of redness on my cheeks. I watched him putting the small pieces of vegetable in a separate bowl and put some spices to blend it in. Then he washed his hands and begin to walk near me. My heart raced as I watched him stepping near me as I looked down my hands. I felt Ty putting his arms on my sides, trapping me between two arms that were placed on my sides in the kitchen counter. "I have been noticing something for a few days now, Jess," I heard Ty say. "W-what?" I nervously asked. I wondered why just being close to him was making me this nervous. "You are . . ." Ty leaned closer. I felt my chest heavy. "You have been checking me out, haven't you, Jess?" he smirks whispering near my ear. I gasp in shock and my full face turned red. "Of course not!" I yelled and when I looked at him to yell more, I saw him smiling, which made my heart raced more. "I-i-i***t Ty . . ." I blushed and looked away. Ty laughed and pull away from me. "Really? Do I make you that nervous?" he asked as he laughed. I felt humiliation and anger. "Well, if you already know it then why are you saying it?!" I yelled angrily. Ty stopped laughing and looked at me. This time, I felt his fingers tracing down my finger. I felt a soft tingle and looked at him. "Ty . . ." I whispered feeling him closer to me. Ty slowly took my hand and placed it on his chest. I blushed in embarrassed. "What the heck are you doing, stupid Ty?!" Ty didn't say anything but let me felt his heartbeat. I noticed how his head was racing. "Do you feel that? I am also nervous, just as you are, Jess," he whispered. I shook my head. "I don't get it. You don't look nervous, Ty. I feel like I am the only person whose brain is all messed up." "Like, you are aware of what you are wearing in front of me or how you are talking to me?" he asked softly. I nodded. "You know, that's what I feel for you too," he said softly. I looked at Ty. "It is like I want you to notice only me." I didn't say anything. "I know it is confusing but it is not a bad thing. I want you to feel these feelings for me, Jess," he whispered, tracing his finger on my cheeks. "I want you to be aware of me. I want to be the only person who can make you feel this way." I looked at his blue eyes. His beautiful blue eyes which were so soft and pretty, like an ocean which I can watch all day. I felt Ty leaning down my forehead and pressing a soft kiss on my forehead. I felt the soft tingle running down my body. My body suddenly felt numb. His sudden touch was enough to make my brain messy. "Ty," I whispered as I look at him. "I . . ." I noticed him looking at me. I didn't know what was happening to me but I wanted to stay with him this way . . . this close to his heart . . . Suddenly my phone rang, making both of us pull away from each other. I grab the phone and said, "Hello?" Ty went back to his cooking. "Agent Jade! I am Inspected Ròse," I heard a female voice on the phone. "Yes," I said, trying to not talk too much to catch Ty's attention. "Agent Jade, sorry to call you at night time, but just now, I had spotted somebody in the forest. I tried to find him but I couldn't. In fact, I was so close to finding when I heard a gunshot," she said. "What?" I said as I moved away from near a corner of the kitchen to have some privacy. "Yes, Agent Jade," she said. "I saw blood spot in the forest and he ran away. I tried to trace him, but instead, I found Inspector Ian running in the forest with a gun. I met with Inspector Ian and he told me that he had fired the bullet and now that there are blood spots, we could easily find him. Inspector Ian went to follow the blood sport to where it lead him. I tried to go with Inspector Ian but he didn't let me. Instead, he told me to go home while he invests in the forest area." I was shocked. That was weird. Why would Inspector Ian tell Inspector Ròse to go home and let him do the job when both of them were working on the same case? On top of that, one gunshot? That too, he fired it to a person? That's not possible. According to the law, every officer have to fire a warning shot first and then the core bullet to a person. Inspector Ian had been in the police force for a long time. Why would he suddenly make such a mistake? The blood stains on the ground. Are those actually blood stains or . . . "Inspector Ròse, I want to meet you in the police station," I said. "Of course, Agent Jade. I would be glad to discuss this matter with you. I will also give a phone call to inspector Ian-" "No!" I ordered. "I only want to talk to you, Inspector Ròse." "Alright, Agent Jade." "Also, take a sample of the blood stains and send it to the forensic lab. I want to know the DNA of the blood sample," I said. "Of course, Agent Jade," She said. "Take care. I will meet you at the police station at 9 pm." I nodded and hung the phone. I had to talk to Inspector Ròse about it. This issue was getting serious. I was begging to dought Inspector Ian now. "Any problem, Jess?" I heard Ty as I turned around and saw him draining the noddles. I watched him do the cooking. "You know, Jess," he said. "You can tell me anything." I suddenly felt bad. I did want to tell him about the whole thing, about who I was. After living with him for more than a month, I was feeling guilty for not sharing something this important to him. But then . . . Agent Wilson's words flash into my brain. Sharing the information about this case will lead to having danger in those people's lives. I didn't know what to say. I wanted to tell Ty everything but I didn't want to risk his life. I went near Ty and said, "Hey Ty, say," I tried my hair with my finger. Ty put the noddles on the pan with the vegetables and put the lid on. Then he looked and me and smiled. "Say, if I ever hide . . ." I looked down to my fingers. "If I ever deceive you then . . ." Ty didn't even let me finish my sentence. He put his finger on my lips and smiled. "You can never deceive me, Jess. I have that much faith in you," he said softly. I looked at Ty and noticed how much he trusted me. I felt angry and helpless. Ty trusted me so much and all I was doing was deceiving him. How could I play with Ty's trust knowing how he felt about me? I wanted to tell him everything but as I remembered Agent Wilson's words, I hesitated. No. Not yet. I needed to over think this matter. But, I had to tell about my real identity to Ty soon. I had to.
