Did you ever believe the phrase that "Life is unpredictable?" I didn't. At least I didn't used to believe it. But now . . . I was believing it and why you may ask? Well, let me explain. --●●●-- Few Hours Ago --●●●-- I twirled my gun on my hand as I blew the bubble gum that I was chewing. I could see the target face where I was suppose to shoot. I closed my one eye and aimed on the target face as I held my gun properly. Then I shot. Three bullets. And all hit the bull's eye. I heard clapping noise from my back. I turned around and saw Agent Wilson, in other word, my boss, clapping from behind. "Well done, Jade," I heard Agent Wilson said. I turned to him and did a salute. I looked at him and saw him smiling. I smiled back. "I didn't know you were watching, Agent Wilson," I said as I crossed my hand on my back. "You did wonderful, Jade. This is why you are one of the top agents in our country," he said as he ran his hand on his grey hair. He had a file on his other hand. "Agent Wilson, is that a new case?" I asked him. He looked at the file and nodded. Then he looked at me and said, "Come with me. I have something to discuss with you." I nodded and began to follow him. As we began to walk towards his office, he began to talk. "Have you ever heard of Starlight Collegiate Institute?" he asked. "Yes, I guess. If you are talking about one of the highest rank high schools in our country then yes, I have heard of it," I answered as I followed Agent Wilson. "Well, recently, high school kids are getting kidnapped there," he said as we reached his office. We entered in his office cabin and he took his chair and put the file on the table in front of him. I sat across him. "The target is especially towards woman. Nobody could ever tell where were the female students were taken. Sometimes it would be a male student but mostly, it is female students," he said as he opened the file and pushed it towards me so I could see some police reports. "It was reported a few times to the police but the police couldn't crack the case so the case is been given to us to solve it now." I nodded. "So, you want me to deal with this case?" "Yes," he said as he looked at me. "I could have give this case to other agents but I think this case works out better for you. And since you wear hijab, and since woman who wears hijab usually don't serve in areas that deals with hard core crimes, no body would likely suspect you. Plus, you do need to disguise yourself." I nodded, touching the hem of my hijab. "I understand." "It is a very long mission, Jade, and you have to report everything to us as a day to day bases. You will be disguising yourself as a student in that high school-" "And repeat my high school year again?" I looked at him, horrified. "That really sucks." Agent Wilson sighed. "You know that's not how it is. If you can crake the case soon then you can just drop out of the high school. Plus, even though you are 30 years old, you still look very young. Add makeup to look even younger and then choose a role, I guess. Like you know, be a nerd, or one of those popular girls or like cheerleader girls? Do anything but crake the case." I nodded. "I won't disappoint you." "Good," he said as he took out a piece of paper. "Sigh here before you take this case because since it is a special case, if you can crake it, you will be rewards $100, 000 from the government." I stared at him in shock. "Really?" Man, I never thought that I would ever even seen that much money in my life!. "Yes," he gave me the paper where I had to sign. "Make sure you sigh with your real name. Not your code name." I nodded. Jade was my code name because nobody use their own name since everything related on being an agent should be a secret. I took my pen and scribbled down my signature and gave the paper to him. Agent Wilson smiled. "Well, see you after the case then." "Thank you, Agent Wilson," I smiled. "Your welcome, Agent Jade," he said. I got out of the office cabins and laughed. $100, 000! I couldn't wait to get that much money. I had done a lot of cases so I should be able to crake this case. I laughed as I took my phone and noticed a few missed calls from my parents. I didn't want to call them back because I wanted to surprise them with the new case. I quickly left the office and ran to the parking lot and took my car and drove home. I parked my car in the house's garage and ran to the door and rang the door bell. The door opened revealing my mom. I hugged her and smiled at her. "Assalamualikum, mom," I said. "Walikum Assalam, Jess," mom smiled, saying my nickname. "I have a news for you." "No mom, I have a news for you," I said as I put my shoes off my feet and pulled her inside the house. "You are not going to believe this." "Honey, I want to talk to you first-" "Not today, mom," I said. "Let me talk first today. I have a really cool news." "Sweetheart -" "No mom, listen to me. I got a case-" "Jess, I need to tell you something-" "Mom, let me talk first," I interrupted her. "I got a case-" "Jess, you are getting married," she blurted out. I looked at her in shock. What did she just say?! I looked at her in horrified. I was getting married?! WHAT THE HECK! -- ●●● Present Time ●●● -- This was what I meant by having my life unpredictable. Like, I was so happy about the new case that I got. But then, suddenly the whole marriage thing got dumped on my head. Like, I hated marriages or like anything that involved about having a relationship and what mom just told me . . . I felt like it was the worst day in my life.
