The grand halls of the Healing Kingdom’s palace stretched before me, filled with ancient portraits of kings and queens long past, their gazes cold and indifferent. But as I walked through these opulent halls, I couldn’t help but think of the underbelly of this kingdom—the side that people like us, the rich and powerful, pretended didn’t exist.
