4 - Do things the hard way

2906 Words
Lorcan The look on Gianna’s face is priceless. Did she honestly believe that she could escape me? I’m not a stupid man; I know what Emily told Gianna. I knew when Emily entered my office and said Gianna had escaped. Emily is one of my strongest warriors; there’s no way Gianna could have escaped unless Emily allowed it. The useless bitc.h let jealousy get in the way of her job. For that, she’ll spend the next week in the cells without food or water. I don’t take deception lightly, and aiding my mate to run is a crime. Emily should think herself lucky that I didn’t slit her throat where she stood. I knew Gianna had run back to her house in her Wolf form. Emily finally told me where she’d gone. I knew I’d need the car to drag her home; it would be easier than dragging her through the forest in Wolf form. As I drove my car to find Gianna, I came across her family on the forest’s outskirts, looking for her. I pulled the car over and yelled Antonio’s name. Of course, he and his family were shocked to see me there, even more so when I told them Gianna was my mate. Antonio, Gianna’s father, didn’t take the news well that I’d be taking his daughter with me. The fool even tried to negotiate with me. The man has nothing that I want other than his daughter. Mate bonds are tricky things. You can fight them ’til the cows come home, but in the end, you will succumb to it, even if that’s just sexua.l. I don’t plan on keeping Gianna forever, but I want her badly right now. I fuckin.g ache to be inside of her, so deep that I don’t know where either of us begins and the other ends. Valsurus had been restless, wanting Gianna’s Wolf as much as I wanted Gianna. The randy bastard tried to break free and run to her. Of course, I stopped him; I couldn’t let Valsurus scare Gianna any more than she already was. I was fine until Gianna ran from me. As soon as I realized she’d gone, I was consumed with finding and bringing her back. That doesn’t mean Emily is right either; I don’t want that slu.t. Emily was fun for a while, but once with that woman was enough for even me. Emily is crazy, not in the way I’m crazy, but she’s insane when it comes to keeping what she believes is hers. Okay, maybe she’s a little like me. Emily staked claim to me after one night together; if you call two hours a night. She even walks around the packhouse, telling anyone who listens that she’s their Luna. Of course, I soon put that to rest. The woman is not Luna of Silver Paw and never will be. The sooner she gets that through her head, the better. Gianna is now Luna of Silver Paw, whether Emily or even I like it or not. Shi.t, Gianna doesn’t even like it. But thanks to how I dragged Gianna back to the packhouse, all pack members know she is their Luna. Hell, everyone heard me yell, Mate, and the news spread like wildfire. Now they’re excited for the first time since I became Alpha. Every pack craves a Luna because Lunas keep the Alpha strong, and in turn, he keeps the pack strong. Once the Alpha finds his mate, his pack members bend over backward for said mate because she brings balance as a mother would. Now, the pack is nervous to hear their Luna of just over an hour has left. Bringing her back is more for them than it is for me. They have nothing to fear; this time, she won’t be getting away so easily. “I’m not going anywhere with you! Dad,” I rub my forehead with my fingertips and try to repress a smirk. “Tell him to leave, please.” “I’m sorry, Gia, I can’t do that.” “Why?” She practically screams in frustration. “You’re my father! I don’t want to be mated to him; he’s crazy.” “Sweetheart, you don’t have a choice but to go with Lorcan.” Even though I can see that Gianna’s mother wants to tell me to ‘go to hell,’ she tries to convince her daughter to leave with me. I don’t know why I haven’t thrown Gianna over my shoulder yet, but I’m slowly losing patience. “I’m not going!” Gianna looks me right in the eye. “I, Gianna Louisa Astoni,” “Argh!!” “Bella!” I watch the scene unfold. Gianna’s sister is sinking to her knees with her hands on either side of her head. The pain she’s feeling right now will be that of a vice crushing her skull. Antonio and Sofia rush to Bella’s side while Gianna stares at me wide-eyed. “What did you do?” It doesn’t take much concentration for me to crush someone’s skull. I could do it in the blink of an eye, and if I wanted Bella dead, she would be by now. Being a wolf-vampire hybrid brings many abilities, including the power to kill with little effort in terrible ways. Daddy, dearest, won’t be happy with what I’m doing here. Antonio and Bella are good at their jobs within my father’s army, but that means nothing to me. I want what I came for, and I won’t leave until I get it. “Just a little mind control. You don’t get to reject me, Little Wolf.” “Why? That’s what you plan to do to me, so why draw it out!?” I chuckle at how feisty she is; I like it. “You have around five seconds before your sister’s skull concaves.” “You can’t do that! Please let her go,” “That’s up to you, now, isn’t it? Leave with me, and I let her live. Refuse, and I’ll kill her, then I’ll drag you out of here anyway. “In the end, I get what I want. Save your sister or watch her die; the choice is yours. Times ticking, Gianna.” I see a war waging in her eyes. Gianna wants to tell me to go to hell, but I know she won’t. She stares at her sister as blood pours out of her nose. “Gianna, for Goddess’s sake!” Her father yells, causing her to jump. “What the hell are you playing at? Go with him and save your sister!” “Please,” Her sister manages to gasp out around her screams. Her eyes are now so bloodshot there’s no white left. I can’t wipe the smirk off my face as Gianna turns to me with gritted teeth. “Fine, I’ll go with you. Just let my sister go.” “What’s the magic word, Little Wolf?” Gianna growls through her gritted teeth. She’s a strong, dominant one, and I may have my work cut out with this one. “Please.” I break my hold on her sister, and Bella slumps to the floor, gasping for breath. Gianna moves to help her, but I grab her arm. “Leave her, go and pack; you have five minutes. Don’t make me come and find you, or what you just witnessed will be the least of your worries.” “I hate you,” Gianna hisses through her teeth. I chuckle. “The feeling is entirely mutual, Little Wolf. Four minutes.” She yanks her arm from my grasp and takes off to her room. “What the hell was that?” Antonio gets in my face. “You could have killed my daughter!” I flip my head slightly, sending him flying through the air and crashing into the nearest wall. Both Bella and Sofia scream. “Don’t test me, Antonio.” He looks up at me, shock written all over his face. “I am not the Dalgaard to mess with. I don’t give a shi.t about you or your family, nor what happens to any of you. Gianna is my mate, and I’m taking her with me. Say goodbye while you can,” “Wait,” Sofia gets to her feet. “Are you saying I won’t see my little girl again once she leaves here?” I open my mouth to speak, but I’m cut off. “No, Mom, that’s not what he’s saying.” Gianna drops her duffle bag in my hand. I stare at it, trying not to lose my temper at how disrespectful she’s being toward me, her Alpha! “If he wants me to behave, he’ll let me see you soon. I have to go with him; that doesn’t mean I have to make things easy for him.” ‘Oh, my Goddess!’ My Wolf laughs loudly. ‘You sure know how to pick ’em. This is your comeuppance; you know that, don’t you? The Goddess has paired you with the one woman who isn’t scared of you!’ ‘Sure she’s not.’ ‘She’s scared of what you’ll do to her family if she doesn’t go with you. She’s not scared of you personally, Lorcan. You’ll come to see that soon enough.’ Gianna moves to hug her mother, but I grab her arm and stop her. The girl disrespected me, and I cannot have that. I drag Gianna towards the front door, and all the while, she yells for me to let go. Her family is chasing after us, begging for me to allow them a proper goodbye. Not happening; this little bitc.h blew that chance when she opened her mouth to speak against me. I open the door to Harper, a pack member’s black BMW, and throw Gianna inside. It’s the best car in the world when you’re my size, but her car was closer to the front door than mine. It’s not like Harper could tell me now when I asked for the keys. Bitc.h almost shi.t herself and gave me the keys without question. “Put your seat belt on,” I slam the door and lock it with the key fob. I can’t have Gianna trying to escape again, not that I think she will, after what I almost did to Bella. “Lorcan, please!” Sofia grabs my forearm, and my eyes widen, silver and violent. She lets go as though she’d been burned by a branding iron. “I’m sorry, Alpha.” Antonio takes his wife’s arm and pulls her behind him. Bella is sobbing against the car window as Gianna bangs her fists down on the glass, trying to get out. “You would all do well to walk away now while you can. Take your family inside, Antonio, and leave my mate to me.” I don’t care what his wife is mumbling about; I give not one fuc.k that his daughter is crying, either. Emotions make you weak, and someone ought to have taught Antonio that. I climb into the driver’s side and pull away quicker than anyone can blink, leaving a cloud of dust behind me. “Did you really have to treat my family that way?” I turn the car radio down so that I can better hear Gianna. I’m not totally ignorant. “Things would have been much easier if you’d just done as you were told.” “I’m not a dog, Lorcan! You can’t command me and think I’ll jump to your tune. I don’t care who you are and what title you hold! I am my own person, and I won’t let you strip me of my identity.” I turn up the radio and drown her out. The last thing I want to do right now is smack her in the mouth, even if everything in me is screaming to do so. Gianna sulks like a child the whole way back to the packhouse. All the while, my mind is working overtime on whether I’m doing the right thing in bringing Gianna back to Silver Paw. Then I laugh inwardly at how stupid that sounds. We reach the packhouse in no time, and I have to drag the stubborn bitc.h out of the car by her arm. She growls at me, and I’m fast losing the ability to stay calm. I won’t have anyone, including my mate, disrespect me this way! If the pack sees Gianna acting out, they’ll think I’ve gone soft. I am not soft, and Gianna will soon learn her place. As soon as we’re through the front doors, I slam Gianna against the nearest wall. Her eyes widen in shock, and I see her throat move as she swallows hard. I slam my hands on either side of Gianna’s head, making her flinch. “Let’s get one thing straight. Your childish behavior stops now! You try to run; I’ll make you sorry.” Gianna stares at me with defiance in her eyes. “I will never stop trying to get away from you.” She hisses venomously. Fire burns in my belly, my eyes snap from blue to silver, and I see the fear in Gianna’s eyes. She’s going to keep running, and I’m going to keep bringing her back. I don’t have time for that crap! ‘Then do what you have to do, Lorcan. Our mate has to be here with us, no matter what it takes.’ ‘You’re right, Valsurus. Whatever it takes.’ There’s only one way I know that will stop Gianna from leaving me whenever she wants. One way that will force the bond to keep her close. I don’t need the damn push and pull of her running and me chasing. She’s not leaving this place until I say it’s okay. I grab the back of Gianna’s neck and tilt her head to the side. She claws at me, trying to pry me off, but she’ll get nowhere. Without a second passing, I sink my canines deep into her neck. I make sure not to drink from the girl; I don’t want to risk draining her. However, I’ll mark her so the world can see who she belongs to! It’s a stupid idea when I have so many enemies. Anyone could attack Silver Paw to get to Gianna, hoping to get to me. But I’m not in my right mind. Gianna’s screams of agony and the pounding of her fists against my sides pull me back from the edge. I almost lost it for a second there. I wanted to drain her dry; I wanted to feel her blood lacing my throat. I haven’t once drunk another person’s blood since I got this body. In Luther’s? I drank, I’m part Vampire and blood lust is a hazard. It takes time to learn to tamper it down. Though I drank from humans, it wasn’t often. I couldn’t because Luther was strong enough to repel the blood. However, even now, fighting my natural Vampiric urges is not always easy. In the physical, I’m still in my infancy, and I have much to learn. Mom said that I should see my grandfather, and he’d help me learn to curb the urges. But I’m too stubborn to ask for help. I’ve done alright for the past two years, and I’ll continue to do well. I don’t need anyone! I lick the fresh mark on Gianna’s neck, healing it instantly. I then pull away and look her in the eye. “You monster,” She whispers as tears stream from her eyes. I laugh while nodding my head. “And don’t you ever forget it, Little Wolf.” “You marked me without my consent! How dare you do that to me? Don’t you know I could have the Lycan King lock you the fuc.k up for that?” I slam my hand around her throat. She struggles against me, fighting and clawing at my hand. “The Lycan King is my father’s friend, you stupid little girl. One word from the Supreme Alpha, and the Lycan King would walk away. So, what exactly do you think he’d do to me? That’s right, nothing!” Gianna struggles to swallow, but I don’t let go. “It’s time you learned your place, Little Wolf. This mark,” I slide my fingertip over the fresh bite mark that will soon change, or would if I had any intention of allowing Gianna to mark me in return. “Will keep you from wandering too far from me. “I own you, Gianna, and it would be best for you and your family if you learned to behave. Your family depends on you to keep them alive. Don’t make me hurt them to make you behave, Gianna.” I lean in and sniff hard, my eyes rolling at the intoxicating scent of my mate. It’s all-consuming all of a sudden. I want to pin her to the wall and fuc.k her for days and days. “Please, let me go,” “Are you going to do as you’re told?” She nods her head. “Yes.” I press a hard kiss to her temple. “Good. Now, get the hell to bed. You know where to go, and if you don’t, follow your nose.” I laugh loudly and walk away.
