It is a terrible feeling to feel that you are living as a stranger in your own country!! Many of us miss the warmth of social and human relations between people! Many of us, especially young graduates, feel lost due to the lack of decent job opportunities in our country!! He does not feel any belonging to this country, does not rejoice for its joys and does not grieve for its sorrows! He feels that he is a stranger in his homeland, with no future, no present, or even a beautiful past!!! We often hear about many tragedies of Arab youth who drowned in front of the shores of Europe in search of a decent job opportunity that they do not find in their homelands. Few of them actually survive and reach their destination, including my friend Abdul Wahed who surprised me one day with a visit after a long exile from the homeland. I asked him about his condition, and he said, “Praise be to God, and the Lord Almighty enabled me to prepare my two sisters and their marriage, but let me tell you my story from the beginning: I opened my eyes and found myself a (large) child playing between three brothers, one brother Yeleni and two sisters, and I only found in our house my mother, who was divorced from my father.” So he left her the apartment with what was in it and migrated to another city far away and settled in it, married and disappeared from our lives for good, as if he did not give birth to us and did not know us, so I always saw my poor mother worried about providing a livelihood for us, and she was hesitant to my father’s family to demand the expenses of her children, so they gave her the crumbs that are neither rich nor fat from hunger! She used to do everything that a mother tied to four children could do to earn a few piasters to meet our demands, from practicing sewing to taking care of The children of the old building in which we live during the period of their mothers’ work, for a small wage, which she accepts with gratitude and never bargains for it. In our case, and their complete confidence in my mother's cleanliness, we were, despite our terrible poverty and the simplicity of our clothes, a sign of cleanliness, and our apartment always (shining) from its cleanliness despite the old worn out furniture! And I do not forget, my brother, the days of my early childhood, when a new resident came in our building and heard the sound of a loud bean stove. He filed a complaint against my mother in the police station. On that day, the police officer came to our apartment with the soldiers to take my mother to the station, but the neighbors all stood by my mother’s side because they knew of our difficult circumstances. Even the police officer understood the situation and sympathized with our difficult situation, and demanded that the resident waive the report, and in fact the new resident gave up the report and apologized to my mother, saying (Samah Yast Umm Abdo), because I did not know your circumstances! So my mother covered it with the same contentment, and his wife, the new bride, also came to us, apologizing, and even became one of our constant customers in ordering beans, and after a while this resident took my mother to Omar Effendi’s shop and bought her a small factory stove in installments in his name, and that was the first valuable thing to enter our house and he paid her a down p*****t. In exchange for his deduction from the account of the beans, and when this resident gave birth to his first child, my mother kept him for the week in their apartment, and the newborn became in my mother’s care, where the new bride with us left him and went to work. The days went by with us and my mother left nothing she could do to feed and educate us unless she did it, and when my younger brother Ayman was twelve, he started working throughout the vacation, any work until the time for school came. 11 years and we did not know of his death until months later, and we did not grieve for him and how We grieve for a person we did not know and we did not see anything of his kindness or tenderness! And his behavior with our mother was very villainous when he left her and left us with her in the wind!! The days passed with us until my little brother Ayman reached high school and got it with barely a weak score, so he joined one of the technical institutes. As for me, when I finished my studies and obtained the intermediate diploma, I decided to do the impossible for the sake of my mother and my brothers, and my decision was to travel by any means to one of the European countries, it was The decision is a great shock to my mother and my sisters daughters, how can I leave them without a breadwinner and my mother accused me of being a humiliator like my father! The situation was difficult, but I had used God for help and trust in Him, and I actually traveled (by a miracle) to Greece, and I told my mother before my travels that I do not escape responsibility, but that our lives are harsh and poverty is severe, and there is no hope for us except for a miracle that will save us from this humiliation in which we live. A year after my travels, and as soon as I got the first respectable sum from my work, I sent my mother a letter with a check attached to it to help her continue raising my brothers. After eight years in the country of God, I returned to my country and God helped me to prepare my two sisters and their marriage and to help my younger brother to run a successful business. I said to my friend Abd al-Wahed: What you did was a risk on your part, but it was a risky one! I appreciate your psychological state after you finished your studies and did not find any decent job opportunity in your country, so I felt that you were living as a stranger in that country! And know that there are hundreds of thousands besides you who live as strangers who have no future! And this is a great responsibility that falls on the shoulders of Arab governments, so how can we let go? Our children are like this to despair and loss?! How can we let the youth, who are the mainstay of the nation and the hope of the future, lose their hopes and dreams in their homelands?!! Where are the real major projects that absorb these wasted energies?!! Where did the Toshka project, which cost billions, go and we no longer hear about it?! Where are the factories? Where are the major production companies? Where are the bounties of our great Arab nation?! Where is the role of Arab businessmen, billionaires? Why don't they help these poor guys?!! Or are these (men) business preoccupied with us and the homeland with seductions, singers and a life of fun and rapture?! Unemployment of the youth of the Islamic nation is a time bomb that will explode at any moment to burn green and dry!! Do not underestimate the desperate Arab youth, whose life has become a wreck and a stranger in their homelands!!
