‘Stop! Come back here! Toby, stop! Come back!’ I yelled and yelled as loud as I could, but the bus sped on. Then I jumped up and down in the middle of the road, waving my arms absurdly over my head, just like those cheerleader girls from the grammar school. My backpack crunched against my back as I jumped up, and nearly took my head off as I came down, so I stopped jumping. I screamed, ‘Help! Help! Help!’ but there was no one anywhere.
