Chapter 12

Elena's POV

Four days has passed since the accident. The accident gained a lot of media attention as it caused the death of the heirs of two powerful families. Even their funeral was telecasted live and the media and paparazzis have been flocking the hospital to get a glimpse of baby Iva.

My leave has been officially notified to the staff and since then rumors are being spread about my relation with the Knights as my leave was personally approved by the Director on the request of Adrian Knight. Its more than enough for the gossipers. I now get these scrutinizing looks and awkward questions wherever I go in the hospital.

Also I informed my parents about 'a change of job'. But I didn't mention anything about Mr.J**k or else my papa will call me back home the very next second. Momma was okay when she heard about Iva as she perfectly understands my love for children and she is so soft hearted and sweet that she agreed without any questions. My papa was not at all happy with my decision and told me, "I hope you know what you are doing. I don't ever want you to come back here crying saying that you regret your decision" That's my father. He is so strict and conservative, but he always gives us the freedom to take our own decisions in our life. But his only rule is that whether the decision you take is right or wrong, stick to it no matter what and don't ever have regrets. The twins were so curious that they googled about the Knights and now my sister is having a huge crush on Chase Knight. She is calling it 'love at first sight' and is determined to come to US to meet him. That girl is really crazy!!!!!

Today Iva will get discharged from the hospital. Her condition has progressed a lot these days. She is breathing on her own and is accepting the feeds well. She's still a little weak. She is really cute, so small and delicate. I have become so attached to my baby that I can't bring myself to leave her even for a few minutes and so, everyone here is now calling me mama bear. Also Emma and Becca are on a fight for the position of the best aunt, and they are so in love with Iva. She is such a sweet baby that everyone falls in love with her at the first sight. But still she doesn't allow anyone else to touch her other than me. Even Camilla and Aves tried a lot, but finally gave up.

Camilla messaged me in the morning saying that they will be here to take Iva home by around 10 am and she insisted me to go with them. I was planning on going there tomorrow morning, but believe me Camilla is really persistent. Aves personally came to my apartment today morning and took all my bags with her so that I can go to their house straight from the hospital. In these few days I've grown so close to Aves that we are like best friends now. Even Emma and Becca have gotten close to Aves and today morning the three of them were sitting in the apartment and gossiping about their highschool friends for hours that I had to literally drag each of them out.

I was preparing Iva's discharge files when my phone rang, its Camilla. I guess she's here.

Hi sweetie, are you and my grandbaby ready to go home??? (Oh, I forgot to tell you Camilla is now like a mother to me and she calls me sweetie all the time. Believe me she is a really good person. I know it all sounds crazy. Its not even a week and I already feel comfortable with these two "Knight" women. She insists me to call her Mila which I forgets every time)

'Just give me a few minutes. I'm finishing up Iva's discharge papers and then we can go. Also I'll need a few signatures of her guardian too', I said trying to finish up the documents. Its okay darling. Take your time. I also have to talk to the director regarding Ana's case. I will come there after that. So I will send Adrian to you now. He will be making the signatures as he has decided to become our Iva's guardian. Is it okay??? she asked.

'Yeah, its okay' I replied sighing. I can't believe my luck. Out of all the people, that j**k is going to be my Iva's guardian. Don't worry baby I will protect you from your evil uncle. Anyway, I will have to deal with him for real now. I am going to act like I don't know him. Its the best thing that I can think of so far. That's it, I don't know him....All the best Elena. You can do it, I encouraged myself.

Its been a few minutes since the call. I was so engrossed in my work that I didn't notice the presence of a man behind me. I felt a hot breath on my left shoulder. I got startled and jerked my face to the back and to my horror, I came face to face with the devil (P*****t, what was he trying to do!!!!) I stood up and took a few steps back.

'I am sorry sir, but who are you and what are you doing here???', I asked making a neutral face. He seemed to be taken aback by my question.

"Oh that's a first. Don't you remember this face kitten???" he asked looking surprised. (I remember you very well j**k. But I won't let you boost up your ego!!!!! )

'I'm really sorry sir, but I don't know you' I said feigning innocence.

"I'm not that easy to forget, kitten. I am the 'Knight in Shining Armour' who saved you from falling in the mall. I'm pretty sure that you remember me well", he said laughing and started walking towards me (Egoistic j**k !!!!! Now he is making me uncomfortable)

'I have already made it clear that I don't know you sir. Can you please move back a bit and tell me why you are here???' I asked trying to act calm.

'Stop lying, kitten. I know that you remember me well. Also, am I making you nervous baby???' he asked smirking and caged me between the table and his huge body (Who won't get nervous when you look like a hulk, you i***t. His evil smile is giving me bad vibes. My hands and lips are trembling. Shoot, don't get intimidated by him, Elena. You are a strong girl. Don't give in....)

'Sir, with all due respect, you are invading my personal space' I said praying for my voice to not give away my nervousness. He didn't even budge and was starting to say something when we heard Camilla's voice. He suddenly moved away (Thank you so much. You are my saviour Camilla)

She came in and gave me a tight hug and asked, 'How are you, my child???' (Believe me I am fine now that you are here... You just saved me from your own son)

'I'm great Camilla and how are you??? I asked back smiling'. I'm good sweetie, but how many times do I have to tell you to call me Mila, she complained.

'I'm so sorry Mila, I'll try to remember that' I said smiling sheepishly. Its okay, I see you've already met my son. Did he sign the documents??? she asked.

'I'm sorry but I didn't know that he was your son. He didn't tell me who he was. I was just asking him that when you came in', I said innocently.

Oh Lord, when will you learn some manners Adrian (Mila smacked him on his head. He was starting to complain when she glared at him and he backed down. Oh thank god, at least he is scared of his mother)

Now introduce yourself properly Adrian, she ordered him. "Hi, I'm Adrian Knight, Camilla Knight's son and the CEO of Knight Corporation", he said politely (So, the j**k knows how to behave well. Its really funny to see that the intimidating man is now replaced by an obedient mama's boy)

'I'm Elena Rose Jacob. I am a RN and I will be Iva's nanny from now on. Its a pleasure to meet you Mr.Knight' I said in my professional tone and forwarded my hand.

"Its a pleasure to meet you too ki... Ms.Jacob (Oh, so now you don't want to call me kitten) You can call me Adrian or Ad" he said taking my hands and caressing it a bit inappropriately. I frowned at him trying to take back my hand and you know what he did, he smirked at me and tightened his grip. The nerve of this man. (Argh!!!! P*****t) I retrieved my hand fast and gave him the documents.

'You can call me Elena. So, Adrian I need you to sign these documents as Iva's guardian'. As I said this, his face paled (Did I say something wrong, weirdo!!!!)

"Yeah...I'll..sign it..now" he said stuttering. I looked at him confused (What happened to him??? Why is he sweating so much??? ) 'Adrian are you okay??? You are sweating a lot' I asked concerned. I think Mila too noticed this, as she said, Yeah she's right. Are you okay son??? "Ye..ah...I'm okay...I'll be...outside... by the car" saying this he quickly signed the documents and stormed out of the room. This guy is really weird....

Finally we completed all the formalities. I wrapped Iva in a pink fluffy cloth and took her in my arms. Emma, Becca, Lisa and Josh came to say goodbye. Ryan is still angry with me. But he is now in the OT and he told Josh to apologize for him. What did I tell you, my friends are really the best..... The funniest thing was that the Director personally came to see us off (The power of money!!!!)

Mila led us to a black range rover parked outside the main gate. Its my first time getting into such a huge car. Becca is right, these people are crazy rich. Camilla sat with me in the back. Adrian was already seated in the shotgun. As soon as we got in, the driver started the car. We are now off to the Knight Mansion. To say I'm nervous will be an understatement, I'm really scared. I don't know what awaits me there. Also I'm pretty much sure that the devil sitting in the front is not going to leave me alone. Oh Lord, please save me.....
