Chapter 14

Elena's POV

Its been almost two months since I have started living with the Knights and I must say that I'm enjoying my life here way too much. Mila and James treat me as their daughter. Chase, Dave and Aves are my new best friends.

Chase is Adrian's cousin and I got to know that his parents died when was ten. He is a really handsome guy. He is 6'3 with bronze brown wavy hair and forest green eyes. He has a long turned up nose and sharp jaws. He has a well-buit body just like Adrian. Well, I must say, the Knight genes are really good. They all look like models.

Dave's sister Diane and her kids were here till last week. Diane is a really nice person and she helped me a lot in taking care of Iva. Eventhough I am a nurse, still a mother's advice is always the best. Her kids Mia and Max are the sweetest kids I've ever met. I really miss their constant chatters and mischiefs. What to say, I'm a sucker for kids. Emma and Becca often visit me here and they have grown to like both Mila and James. Also Becca is officially Dave's girlfriend now. To say the least, that man is smitten by her. His parents and Diane like Becca a lot and I am pretty much sure that they will make it to the altar soon.

Albert and Joanna often visit Iva and spend time with her. They spoil her with a lot of toys and gifts whenever they come. I think Albert doesn't like me much. I can't blame him for, I am just a stranger who became the nanny of a rich heir overnight. Who knows if I may be a golddigger!!!!!! So I always try to stay away from him.

But Joanna is a sweet lady and she told me a lot about Kevin and Ana. They knew each other since they were five. Their relationship started off on a bad note. They used to compete with each other in everything and later on, their competition turned into love. They were each other's first love and Kevin proposed to Ana when they were just 18. Then they had to go to different colleges but they still maintained their relationship well and got married 2 years back that too, after starting a company together which is now merged with the Williams Corporation. Their love story is every girl's dream and I really wish to have a love like they had. When Iva gets old enough, I will surely tell her about her parents' love story.

I had been told by Aves that they also have another son, Kayden and that he is a manw***e. I pretty much hate that guy already because he didn't even care to see his niece even once. How can someone do that to a baby!!!!!!!

Talking about my baby, she has gained some weight now and she is a real screamer. Do something that she doesn't like and she will literally scream her lungs out. But I love my baby more than anything in the world. She is now comfortable with her family and her uncle is her next favorite person after me. Yeah...You guessed right, its Mr.Grey eyes. Eventhough he is a j**k, he loves Iva a lot. Also I don't know what happened to him lately, but he is trying his best to ignore me. He doesn't even interact with me except for matters regarding Iva and believe me I'm not complaining.

But you do miss him calling you kitten....

Urgh!!! that's my traitor inner self who claims that I'm in love with him. I agree that I'm attracted to him. Who wouldn't be!!!!! He is handsome and his grey eyes are really mesmerizing....

Then explain the fluttering of your heart and the feeling of butterflies in your stomach whenever he's around.....

Will you be quite for a second ??? You are talking as if you are someone else. You are a part of my body you traitor.....

This is what I have been dealing with this whole month. I can't believe that out of all the men in the world, I am attracted to a playboy that too a spoilt one. Argh!!!! Why can't I have these feelings towards Josh. Josh has been constantly asking me out on a date and I can't bring myself to go out with him as I don't want to give him any false hopes. Also the little feelings I had for Josh turned out to be pure friendship and nothing else. Well, it was my feelings for Adrian that helped me realize that. I had been giving him excuses about Iva being sick or that I can't leave her alone, but I can't do that any longer. I think I will have to talk to him soon.

Also Aves came to know about Josh and she is forcing me to go for this date. She even tried to make me jealous by saying that if he was her type she would have dated him. But little does she know that my heart only beats for her brother. Godddd....I am feeling so frustrated right now!!!!! I can't control my feelings towards that j**k. But I know that he is not good for me and I am determined to fight off these feelings. Dear Lord, please help me in this....

These last few days have been really weird. Chase has been all flirty and touchy with me whenever Adrian is around and I have seen Adrian glaring at Chase and swearing at him when he does this. I even once saw Chase being pushed on to the kitchen wall by his neck by Adrian and you wanna hear the funniest thing, Chase was smiling like an i***t the whole time. Those two are real weirdos!!!! So, I try my best to ignore them whenever they are together. But Chase is a really funny guy and he has become my good friend within this short time. I enjoy talking to him and he makes me laugh a lot unlike some people who keeps scowling at me. You can guess who I am talking about, right???

So, today is Sunday and everyone's home. I decided to take Iva to the garden for a walk and so here I am in the garden with Iva in my arms. Aves is also with me and she is trying to make my baby smile by making these goofy faces. I was laughing at Iva's cute expressions when I heard someone shouting my name. I turned to see a grinning Ryan at the door, followed by a confused Chase and Adrian. Looking at his face I can guess that he is planning something evil. So I gave Iva to Aves preparing for whats to come. Buckle up for some drama people.........

Ryan ran towards me and hugged me tight almost choking me and whispered in my ears,

Get ready, for I'm going to give these two b*****ds a show. They had the audacity to question me when I asked for you.

Before I could say anything he picked me up and twirled me around shouting, Baby I missed you so f*****g much. I couldn't sleep without you by my side. I am starting to hate my job as I don't have you with me there. I miss fooling around with you in the hospital and our little quickies in my office. I miss your sweet kisses and your cooking. I love you so so much baby (Oh good gracious.....please tell me that I heard it all wrong. I'm so gonna kill him after this!!!)

Put me down you i***t and don't you dare utter another word, I whispered in his ears, gritting my teeth.

He immediately put me down. Hugging me again, he whispered, I know I'm getting overboard and I'm sorry. But please bear with me. I'm sure that one of these idiots is having feelings for you and I'm going to prove it today. Believe me you are going to love it. Just play along.

'You are delusional Ry. They are just being protective, nothing else. But don't worry I'll act along. I really wanna see their reactions' I said chuckling. Wait and watch baby, he whispered and broke the hug.

He then cupped my face and kissed my forehead saying, I missed you so bad baby. My bed feels so empty without you. I love you so freaking much. I can't live without you anymore. Lets get married today, baby.

'Oh my God!!!!! Ry, I love you so so much. Are you saying that you want to marry me now???? Like right now ??? (I asked feigning surprise and Ryan nodded yes grinning at me)

'YES!!! Lets get married baby' I said squealing. He again picked me up and twirled me around shouting "she said yes" (This guy deserves an oscar and this is not our first time either. I have saved him from many of his exes in the same way)

Our Oscar worthy performance was interrrupted by the clearing of a throat. It was Chase.

So, El is he your boyfriend he asked glaring at Ryan. 'Yeah Chase. Isn't he so handsome??? He is a famous gynecologist and he is really amazing' I said clutching onto Ryan's arm and trying my best to sound like a girl who is desperately in love with her boyfriend.

No baby, your soon-to-be husband, Ryan said holding my hands and kissing my knuckles (I sneaked a peek at our audience. Chase is looking surprised and confused at the same time. Aves is dumbstruck and is glued to her spot. Adrian is looking so furious and is giving Ryan a murderous glare. Is that guy by any chance jealous??? NO!!!! No way, right??? I guess I'm just imagining things)

I took Iva from Aves and said, 'Ry, this is my beautiful baby girl Iva. Baby, say hi to uncle Ryan'. I held Iva's hand waving a little "Hi" at Ryan.

Awww, Baby she is really beautiful. I want to have a lot of cute babies with you, Ryan said playing with Iva. He then turned us towards our dumbstruck audience, held me by my waist and said smirking, Aren't we looking like a perfect family!!!!! She is going to make a beautiful mother. Oh God, I can't wait to make her my wife (Adrian is looking like he is going to kill Ryan any moment now. Aves is literally gawking at Ryan. Is that an attraction I'm seeing!!!! Oh my god, looks like Aves is smitten by Ryan. Who wouldn't be....Ryan is a handsome guy. He is 6ft 2inches tall with black slicked back hair and ocean blue eyes. He has long pointed nose and a chiseled jaw with a little beard. He has this ruggedly handsome look which of course helps him to get the girls. But I don't want Aves to get heart broken. Ryan is a hopeless playboy who has no intention of settling down and Aves is someone who just recovered from a nasty breakup. I will have to talk to Aves after this)

So, El, I guess you are going to marry him then, and....have kids, Chase asked smiling nervously and glancing at a fuming Adrian. 'Of course Chase. Ry is so sweet and caring. I can't wait to marry him......' I said squealing.

You know what baby, lets go and get married right now. I'll also make sure to get you pregnant today itself. Ryan whispered the last part in my ear but loud enough for our audience to hear and smirked at Adrian (Looks like Ryan got what he wanted....)

"Elena, you will not marry him. You have signed a contract for one year and it prevents you from performing any acts that may jeopardize your relationship with Iva which includes your marriage to him" Adrian said snarling at me (This guy is a psycho!!!! Eventhough I signed a contract, it doesn't mean that he has the right to take decisions in my life. J**k)

Before I could say anything, Ryan shouted at him saying, Who are you to tell her not to marry me. I am her boyfriend and she loves me......only me. When I looked at him he gave me an evil smirk (What is he upto...Lord save him)

"She is my niece's nanny and I have the right to decide whom she will marry" Adrian said gritting his teeth. Chase was trying to calm him down when Ryan said taunting him, But that is not a good enough position for you to take decision in my baby girl's life. Don't listen to him baby. No one can stop me from making you my wife. You are my love and my life. Saying this, Ryan moved on to kiss my temple. I think that was his last straw as Adrian instantly launched at Ryan trying to punch his face screaming, "Don't you f*****g touch her, you b*****d . She is mine " But thankfully Chase caught his hand on time and held him down (To say that I'm shocked will be an understatement, I'm terrified. What is wrong with this guy!!!! How the heck can he just claim that I'm his. J**k)

Ryan is now giving me this 'what-did-I-tell-you' look and is trying his best not to laugh at Adrian. Chase is whispering something into his ears and is trying to cool him down.

Suddenly Aves shook her head as if coming out of a trance. She then started walking towards us. Forwarding her hand to Ryan, she said giggling nervously, Hi I'm Avery Knight. I'm Iva's aunt and Elena's new best friend. Its really nice to meet you.

Is she for real!!!! Did this girl not hear anything that just happened here!!!! Thats a first..... Aves is normally immune to men's charm. Since I know Ryan well, I would say that he didn't even notice her till now. I think this girl is in love and if she is serious about this, I'll myself help her to tame this playboy.

Ryan gave me a perplexed look and we broke into laughter. Realizing the situation Chase too joined us shouting, Oh my god Aves, that's freaking hilarious.

I'm so sorry guys, I didn't quite pay attention to what was happening here, Aves said smiling sheepishly and started laughing at her foolishness. I think Iva too liked all of this that she started making these funny noises cooing at my laughing face. Adrian gave us an 'unbelievable' look and shook his head at us giving us his signature glare.

We were laughing and teasing Aves, when Mila and James came to the garden asking us what happened.

'Mila its really funny...... Ryan came to meet me and we pulled a prank on these three that we are a couple and we are going to get married today. Believe me Mila their reactions were epic' I said laughing (Mila knows Ryan. They had met before in the hospital)

Hi Ryan, long time no see. I can't believe that I just missed all of it, Mila said taunting her children and nephew.

Hi Camilla, I got really busy with work last month. Its been a long time since I saw my El and I missed her a lot (he said pulling my cheeks and I giggled) So I decided to surprise her today. But actually, I got the real surprise. I just realized that someone has got feelings for someone here, Ryan said smirking at Adrian.

What!!!! Who are you talking about Ryan??? Mila asked looking confused. Oh about that, Chase will tell you all about it later, right Chase??? Ryan asked smirking at Chase

(That's Ryan guys. He is really good at trapping people)

Chase looked helplessly at Adrian and then at me. He then agreed saying, Fine, Aunt Mila, I'll tell you everything after this.

Okay Chase. Just remember that I won't let you sleep tonight without telling me everything that had happened here, Mila said glaring at Chase (You guys might be wondering where is Avery....she is right beside me ogling at Ryan. This girl has got it real bad......)

So we had a great time together. Ryan fell in love with my baby and has promised to come visit me more often, which was answered with a snort by Adrian (He is a real psycho and I have decided to just ignore him for the time being)

Mila convinced Ryan to stay for the lunch. But he left soon after lunch as he got a call from the hospital. He left, only after giving me a hug and kiss on the forehead to which Adrian stormed out of the room swearing at him. All this while, Aves had been trying her best to approach Ryan and he just ignored her which was really sad

That's the problem with Ryan. All this goofiness and care is only towards me. He is extremely rude towards his flings and that's why all of his exes hate him. The reason is that his heart was broken by his first love and so he hates most of the women. That's the reason for my concern. I think I'll have to do something about this but only after explaining all the risks and consequences to Aves, that too if she is then still interested. But I'm sure Ryan won't make it any easy for Aves)

I haven't seen Adrian after the lunch. He didn't even come for dinner. When I asked Chase about it, he said that Adrian had locked himself up in his room and is not even talking to him. I don't know if his reaction and the words that he had said in the morning were genuine. But I am not going to encourage anything of that sorts. Because I know that he is not good for me. He can never give me a life that I dream of. A playboy like him won't be able to get satisfied with one woman. Who knows??? Maybe he's just playing with me. However I'll only get burnt in the end.....
