Chapter 2

Elena's POV

A week has passed and I successfully transferred my things into Becca's apartment. Its really spacious and its only 15 minutes from our hospital. I am so happy that I have Becca as my roommate as I love having someone to always talk to.

Becca is a really great friend. When I first met her, I never expected that this girl would one day become my friend. She hardly said a word or two and at some point, I even thought that she hated me. It was my friendship with Emma that helped me to get close to her and now she is the one who does all the talkin. Believe me, give this girl a topic and she can go on and on about it for hours.

Thursday afternoon, Josh took me out on a 'not-so-friendly date'. Even though he promised me a date as friends, he was flirting and giving me little romantic gestures all throughout. But it was great. First, he took me to a small Italian restaurant. It was so cozy and the food was amazing. Then he took me to a beautiful park. I love nature and so does he. So we both enjoyed a lot. But I want our date to stay a secret. I even made him promise not to say a word because Emma and Becca ever gets a hint, then they'll try to play cupid. That's the last thing I would want right now, as my traitor heart has started taking a liking towards Josh. But I think it's more like that to a friend than a lover. Urgh, I am really confused right now!!!!

Who wouldn't like a sweet guy like him. See, that's my annoying subconscious who is hell bent on making me fall in love with someone.

Its Sunday and the three of us (me, Becca and Emma) had been lucky enough to get a day-off. Its a rare opportunity and we have decided to make the best use of it. We have planned to go for shopping and end our day with a movie. At the moment, Emma and Becca are waiting for me to prepare them an Indian breakfast. All five of my friends are obsessed with Indian food and they never waste any chance of having it. So whenever I am free they make me cook Indian dishes. Chicken Biriyani is their all time favorite.

Today I have prepared aloo parantha (a dish made from wheat and potato) for breakfast and I can't wait to see their reactions....

Oh my God El, how do you manage to prepare such tasty food, this tastes unbelievable!!!! I love you so much El, Becca said munching on the food.

You only say that when you get her food Becca, but I am planning on marrying her because I want to have her food everyday for the rest of my life. Will you marry me my love...... Emma asked holding my hands in a romantic way (Such a drama queen!!!!)

Emma is a real foodie and we always make fun of her saying that she will divorce her husband if he ever denies her any of her favourite dishes.

'Yeah sure Em, I would love to, but what will I tell Sam when he confronts me about marrying his girlfriend' I asked chuckling. Oh, that's nothing to be worried about. Trust me El, you will be doing my brother the greatest favour saving him from this annoying old lady, Becca said taunting Emma.

(Samuel Carter aka Sam is Emma's boyfriend and Becca's big brother. They were high-school sweethearts who are still going strong. Sam is working in a big company as a legal advisor. He is also a brother figure to me)

News flash Becca we are of the same age and you are more annoying than me. Am I wrong El??? asked Emma mocking her. 'Whoa, leave me out of it you future sister-in-laws, I don't want to be murdered by any of you. So tell me where are we going today??? I asked trying to change the topic or else these two will start their usual banter.

A new mall has opened nearby and I heard that its really good. Its only 10 minutes from here. So, we can go there today. We have time till six and then we have to get to our usual spot (Our usual spot is Blackbuck Diner. It is the place where all of us get together on every Sunday. It is a really nice place and the food there is amazing) Lisa and Josh will be there by seven. They have messaged me just now. But I am not sure about Ryan. Well, you know how he is. If he manages to find a girl before then, only hope to see him tomorrow morning. I can't believe that guy is a doctor!!!!! Emma said shaking her head (I do agree that Ryan is a playboy. But believe me, he is a really dedicated doctor, that too one of the best)

'Is Sam coming???' I asked Emma.

No idea El, her brother is giving me a really hardtime, something to do with the new CEO. Its been ages since we have gone for a real date, said Emma complaining.

I can't help it Em. He is a workaholic, said Becca raising her hands in surrender.

'Don't worry Em. I'll talk to Sam. Now, lets get going as both of you take forever to shop' I said picking up my bag and phone. No El, its Becca who takes hours to choose a dress, Emma said defending herself.

Whoa Em, you are nothing less. You take a lot of time too, Becca clapped back (Oh no, not again. Can't they behave like adults for at least once!!!!)

No way lady. I only need ten minutes to choose a dress, Emma said getting furious. Oh, that's why you had spent almost two hours to buy a jeans last time....Just a jeans!!!!! said Becca scoffing (Becca is right about that. Emma literally took two hours to select a single jeans last time and it was pure torture)

That's because I couldn't find the right size Becca, Emma whined.

Yeah whatever helps you to sleep at night Em, Becca said mocking her.

'Bye guys, I am going. The key is on the table. Don't forget to lock the door on your way out' I said walking towards the door.

Whoa, where are you going without us El??? Yeah stop right there young lady, both Emma and Becca shouted (Argh!!!! These two women)

'I actually plan on doing some real shopping today and you both are not going to stop your bickering soon. So I'm going by myself' I said nonchalantly.

We are not bickering!!!!! they yelled at the same time.

'Yeah, for sure......' I said feeling defeated.

These two women are unbelievable. They are quite handful and I can't help but worry how Sam will manage them after his marriage. He, for sure, will go crazy hearing their banter everyday.......Oh dear lord, that is going to be epic!!!!!!!
