Chapter 7

Adrian's POV

Today morning I finally decided that I'll change my ways.....Yeah you guessed right, I decided to stop fooling around. Yesterday night I had a talk with Ana over the phone which I am sure was my mom's deed. We talked about a lot of things including my flings and Stacey and as always I did not agree to any of her demands but then she mentioned about that one girl fated for me and how my soul mate will be disappointed if she gets to know that I am a playboy.

Ana believes in the idea of Soul mates and claims that she had found hers which of course is Kevin. She really is delusional as who believes in s**t like that in this age.

I don't know why but my kitten's face came to my mind when Ana said that. Its been days but I can still remember how she smelled. I had only got a whiff of her scent, that too just once. Is it even possible to remember someone's scent!!!! My kitten's innocent face forced me to promise Ana that I'll change my ways. She became so happy and she screamed so loudly into the phone that I almost got deaf for a minute. My kitten is making me do things which even my mom was not able to do. You sure are toxic for me, my little kitten.....

So today morning I decided that I'll end my relationship with Stacey. I'll also stop having one-night-stands and focus more on the company. I think I am crazy, thinking about a girl whom I met just once. Damn, she may not even recognize me if we meet again. For now only Ana knows about my decisions and I'm sure Chase will be shocked to death when he hears this.

The other things apart, I'm currently in my office going through some business proposals and files of our upcoming projects. Suddenly someone barged into my office screaming my name. F**k, I know this voice. This annoying voice belongs to my fake girlfriend.......Oops 'soon-to-be' ex-fake girlfriend, Stacey Adams.

Who the hell gave her the right to barge into my office without even knocking!!!!! I can see my secretary Ms.Laura Jenson running behind her trying to stop her. I am really impressed with my assistant. At least she is trying to do her job well.

Stacey is a model and Mr.Adams is a business partner of ours and believe me, their company is surviving only because of our partnership. But his daughter is acting like she owns the world. I dismissed my assistant and asked Stacey to take a seat. As soon as she got seated I went straight to the matter and said, "I am officially breaking off our relationship and I'm ready to compensate you for your time and efforts. Also I need you to sign an agreement stating that we won't be having any further s****l relations in the future and that you are receiving the amount that you demanded as a compensation.You are not allowed to disclose to anyone about our past deal. We can stay as good friends and business partners". Looking at her pale face, I think she didn't expect this move from me anytime soon.

"Tell me the amount and I'll give it to you, consider it as a goodbye gift from me" I said focusing back on the files.

But why do you want to break off our relationship right now. Is it because you have found someone new to replace me??? she asked getting furious.

"I am no longer in need of a fake girlfriend. And about another woman, I don't think I have to tell you that, right Stacey???" I asked leaning back on my chair with a smug smile.

As your ex-girlfriend and ex-s*x partner I have the right to know who she is, she said taunting me (I hate this woman and her attitude. She was the best option then to meet my demands or else I would've never associated with her in the first place)

"I am not obliged to say that to you and I'm pretty much sure that your intentions are not of the purest" I said mocking her.

But can you really resist me Adrian, she said giving me a seductive look (She really is delusional. I am not attracted to her even the least bit. Neither had been then. She was ready to have s*x without the tag of a real relationship and I just needed a body to release my frustrations at the end of the day)

"Believe me Stacey, I was never attracted to you and will never be. You know very well on what basis we had made that deal. I am sure I had even made clear to you my intentions and feelings many a times. So please don't waste my time. Tell me the amount, sign the paper and then you are free to go" (I am sure that I have hit the right spot seeing her shocked face. She thinks that she is the most desirable woman in the US)

I ordered my assistant to bring the agreement through the intercom. The first thing that I did today morning was to ask my legal advisor Mr.Carter to prepare this agreement as I was well aware that she is a golddigger and would pretty much do anything for money. I need to play safe when dealing with women like her.

I gave her the documents and took my cheque book to give her the amount that she demands. After reading the agreement she signed it without throwing any tantrums, good riddance. I asked her to tell the amount and she said that she needs 1 million. Greedy much aren't we!!!!!

But I decided to give her the amount anyway as I don't want to deal with her any longer. I gave her the cheque of 1 million and asked my assistant to show her the way out. But then she stood up and challenged me saying, Lets see how long you can survive without me Adrian. I know that you will come back to me. After all, only I can put up with your flings and that attitude of yours.(You really are testing my patience woman. I hate people who thinks that they can control me)

"You know very well that its not gonna happen and Stacey, I warn you to better think before you say something regretful as I can bring down both your career and your company with just the snap of my fingers. Just get the h**l out of here before I call the guards", I shouted getting frustrated.

She doesn't learn does she....She had witnessed herself in the past how cruel I can be with people who mess with me or my family.

You know what Adrian, if I want something I'll get it by hook or by crook. Also no need to call the guards as I know my way out, she said stomping out of the room. Finally that s**t is over. I leaned back on my chair sighing. She doesn't know the real Adrian Knight. I wish for her to never mess with me or else I'll hurt her so bad that she'll regret the day she was born, I thought smirking.

As I started to open the file in front of me someone barged in again and this time its none other than my dear cousin Chase. (Can't you guys just give me a break!!!!) "Have you ever heard of something called knocking???", I asked mocking him.

Quit with the sarcasm Ad. Tell me what the heck happened here. I just saw Stacey storming out of here looking like she just lost her 'favorite diamond ring' (even Chase knows what matters to her the most) and when I asked her about it she just yelled at me to f**k off and gave me the middle finger, he said plopping down on the chair in front of me. I can't help but laugh at him.

"I'm really sorry bro it was actually meant for me after all I really did snatch her 'diamond ring' as I just ended our fake relationship, giving her a compensation of 1 million which of course was according to her demand and I made her sign a non-disclosure agreement about our deal", I said nonchalantly.

What!!!!!!! he yelled shooting up from the chair. "Now look who's yelling. No wonder she just did that", I said laughing.

Tell me you are joking Ad. Why the h**l did you do that. I do agree that she was unbearable, but still....Are you even in your right mind. Are you high??? asking this he came near me and started sniffing me (What is there to get hyped about ??? Is it that unbelievable??? Can't a man change for good???)

"Bro, you know very well that I don't do drugs and I'm perfectly alright. I feel like I am no longer in need of a fake girlfriend and I have also decided to quit doing one-night-stands and focus more on the company" I stated my decision. Chase stood there frozen, like a deer caught in the headlights and he is looking really funny...........Laughing inwardly, I went near him and patted him on the shoulder, asking "Chase.....bro....are you alright ????" He is now looking at me like he is seeing me for the first time (If his reaction is like this then, I can't wait to see my mom's reaction. Its going to be EPIC.....)

Are you f***ing kidding me right now !!!!! Who the hell in their right mind would take such a decision!!!! Also are you planning to follow celibacy, quitting one-night-stands. Don't tell me you are doing this because of aunt Mila....No, you are not one to listen to her overnight, or is it because of Ana??? No, you don't listen to her either. Arrgh....just tell me already what made you do this because I'm going crazy here, he said getting frustrated.

"Calm down bro, can't a man change for good!!!!! ", I said wriggling my brows. He glared at me muttering b*****d.

"I heard you bro. But jokes apart, I think its high time that I take up some responsibility in my life and stop fooling around. I really feel like I need a change. I think you should try this too. Also to answer your question, its not Mom or Ana who made me take this decision but its my little kitten'..... I said smiling to myself.

I was brought out of my reverie by Chase touching my forehead. Ad, lets go see a doctor. I think that you are having a fever because you are talking NONSENSE....and what did you mean by 'my little kitten'??? (Is it that hard to digest. Now he's starting to give me a headache)

"I am talking only SENSE and about my kitten, everything will be revealed when the time is right....." I said taunting him.

You know what Ad, do all of that s**t by yourself and leave me out of it. I think I am starting to go crazy listening to your nonsense. You really are a shame to us playboys. Out of all the people, I never expected you to do this" he said in disbelief. "Believe me man, I myself didn't expect that I'll do this.....All of this is because of my kitten", I said remembering her innocent face.

Whoever the hell that is, I'm going to kill that person he said getting annoyed. (Uh-oh that was a wrong move Chase)

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her, or you'll see the real Adrian Knight" I threatened, glaring at him (Wait, why the h**l did I get angry right now. Chase doesn't even know my kitten and even if he knows her he'll never hurt her. Also its not like she is my girl or anything. But I think it'll be fun to make her my girlfriend. Whoaaaa!!!!! Where are these thoughts coming from. She really is messing with my head !!!!!! )

He stared at me in utter disbelief and stormed out of my office shouting on the way to go find a shrink or someone (I'm now doing things which I myself can't believe. I am not being my usual self. If it goes like this, I think I'll have to find myself a shrink for real)

This morning was really eventful. I'll have to apologize to Chase later on and maybe even explain to him about what's been happening with me lately. Eversince Ana's talk about soul mates, I can't help but wish my kitten to be my soul mate. Kitten, you are making me feel weird things....I think its best that I engage myself more in the work so that I can block out these unwanted thoughts. Agreeing to it, I focused back on the files.
