Adrian's POV
Its been almost a week since I took the decision to lead a clean life and so far I am successful in it. Also as expected my mom's reaction was epic when I told her about my decision that evening. But I have noticed that she has been pampering me a lot lately and I am pretty much sure that she is doing this in the hopes of getting me married to a girl that she likes. You can't fool me my dear mother, after all I am your son!!!!!!!!
I have officially announced my breakup with Stacey and since then women have been flocking me wherever I go in the hopes of becoming my next girlfriend. I know it might sound weird but I can't get myself to feel any attraction towards these women as the only woman I think about day and night is my kitten. She is not really my type. She doesn't wear any makeup or fashionable clothes, just a cute plain girl. But she has literally bewitched me. Maybe she is my soul mate or else how could I get attracted to such a normal girl. Isn't it really ironic that I am that same guy who used to mock Ana for believing in the idea of soul mates.....Maybe I am really being paranoid due to the stress in the company as Chase had said when he got to know about my kitten. He had been constantly pestering me asking who is this 'kitten' and he finally made me spit it all out. Also thanks to my traitor best friend that my mom and sisters now know that there is something up with me and are in search of the anonymous 'kitten'. Thankfully I was able to stop his rant on time or else I am sure that my mom would've planned my wedding by now.
Now I'm on my way to the office of the Rovio group of companies as my company along with that of Kevin's is signing a multi-billion project with the Rovio group. The Rovio group is a business conglomerate with a number of international branches unlike ours which is restricted to the US. I never had the chance to meet the MD, Mr.Alexander Ricci, who is my role model in the business world. He started the Rovio corp. in a small building in Florence, Italy and then developed it into this well-known international group with his individual efforts. So I am really excited to meet him in person and to work with him in this project. Our scheduled meeting is at 9 am and now its 8:50. I'm waiting in the conference hall with Chase, for Kevin and Ana. Ana had informed me that they'll be here in 5 mins tops and I can't help but get nervous as I don't want anything to go wrong in this. Its our dream project. Its been more than 20 minutes and they are still not here. I tried calling them but both of their phones are switched off. I called Mr.Williams and he said that they should have reached here before 9 as they had started early from their house. I am sure its not traffic as Ana had said on the phone that the road was clear. (My mind is screaming that something bad has happened)
Suddenly my phone started ringing and its Ana's number. Finally.....I immediately answered the call and asked, "Where are you both ???? We are already late". But the one who replied was not Ana and before I could ask anything that lady said, You must be Mr.Adrian. Your number was the last one in the call log and that's why I called you .Can you please tell me how you are related to Mrs.Anastasia Williams ??? (I am getting a really bad feeling)
"I am her brother. Can you please tell me where is Ana???" But then that lady gave me the worst news of my life, your sister and her husband had an accident. Her husband died on the spot. Your sister is alive but she is seriously injured and now we are taking her to the Wellcare Hospital. Please get there as soon as you can. Also can you please tell me how far along she is???
"She just completed 8 months last week" I said in a trance. Thank you Mr.Adrian and please get to the hospital fast, saying this she hung up.
I can't believe what I just heard. Kevin is dead....No way, they must be wrong!!!! How can he die like that!!!! No I won't believe this. I started panicking. I don't know what to do. Chase is asking me what happened and is trying to make me calm.
"Bro, the lady said that Ana and Kevin had an accident. She said that Kevin is dead and they are taking Ana to Wellcare Hospital". His face suddenly lost all the colours and he yelled, What the hell are you saying!!!! How the hell did it happen!!!!!
"I don't know anything. I have to get to the hospital fast. Ana is injured and I don't know about her baby. Please inform Mr.Ricci's assistant that we can't do this today. Also call dad and Albert. They don't know anything yet", saying this I ran out of the building. I started my car, but I can't focus on the road and I'm praying to God to please keep Ana and her baby safe. I'm sure that I've gotten a lot of tickets on the way. But what matters now is to get to the hospital fast.
I reached the hospital in a few minutes and I rushed to the reception. They told me that Ana was taken to the ER and when I got there, I saw that my Dad and Mom were talking to a female Doctor. When I got near them I heard the doctor saying,
Ana has seriously injured her head and has internal bleeding. But thankfully she is fully conscious at the moment. Also even though the baby's heartbeat is low, the baby is alive. So, I'll be performing an emergency C-section and will be taking out the baby as soon as possible. The baby will be transferred to the NICU. Then our neurosurgeon Dr. Harry will perform the craniotomy and try stopping the internal bleeding. I want you to arrange a few units of matching blood as we'll be needing it during the surgery. Also she has already lost a large amount of blood. Lets hope for the best and pray for her and her baby's well being"
Mom broke down hearing this and I know that Dad is trying his best to control his emotions. Dad agreed to give his blood as Ana has got Dad's blood group. Also I talked to Chase and he agreed to arrange the needed blood. As I was starting to call Dave, I saw Kevin's parents and Kayden running towards us. I don't know what to tell them. My mom and Joanna started sobbing hugging each other and by looking at Albert and Kayden, I know that they have already got the news. Then my mom was called inside by a nurse and after a few minutes she came out sobbing. She said that they are shifting Ana for the surgery.
I can't stand all of this. Why this has to happen to our Ana??? She was so happy and we were all excited for her baby. I'm sure that even if she survives this, she won't be the same Ana as she has lost her other half Kevin.........God, please save Ana and her baby and please give her the strength to survive all of this.....
