PREPARATION AND ATTACK

2149 Words
Abigail's POV:- There are only two days left for the wedding and the whole packhouse is in chaos because of the preparations going around. Dad has hired one of the best wedding planners so that the wedding can go smoothly without any hassle. On the other hand, I have talked to Mrs. Ruso and politely informs her that I can't accept the diamond necklace that she has sent for me. However, she has told me that the necklace is for the new luna of their pack and it's a tradition to wear it on the day of the wedding. So, at the end I can't help but agree to keep the necklace. The shopping for my wedding dress and other necessities are already done by me and Mia. Eloise also wanted to go with us but thankfully dad needed her for some paperwork because I am still not liking her despite her polite behavior. I understand that she must be very nice or why dad would choose her to be the new luna of the pack. But then again, I don't know her for very long to understand her motive. "Abi, your wedding gown is here." Mia says coming into my room holding a very big box. "Thanks, Mia." I reply while taking the box from her hand. I put the box on my bed and start taking off the lid to see the final finish. The moment my eyes have fallen on the gown, I know it's the only one for me. The gown is a White Ivory color ball gown that features a heart-shaped neckline, semi-transparent beaded long sleeves, beaded fitted bodice, and sparkly full skirt with a long train. For shoes, I have selected block heel sandals that are fitted with a thin halo ankle strap that fastens with an adjustable buckle. The strap is encrusted with two rows of tiny crystals. The vamp toe strap is also embellished with crystals and beads as well as delicate fabric flowers. "You have such a great choice, Abigail." Someone comments from the doorway so I turn around and notice that Eloise is standing there looking very eager. So, I give her a small smile and ask her to come inside. "Isn't she? But she doesn't believe me whenever I compliment her for her choices." Mia complaints making Eloise laugh. "Don't worry, I am sure her husband will make her understand that she is very good at choosing things as well as persons." Eloise replies winking at me. I don't reply just smile in response because what I am supposed to reply when I don't even know what life has planned for me. I let the two talk among themselves and pick up the box in my hands before going inside the closet to put it securely. When I come out of the closet I notice that none of the two are in the room but I shrugg my shoulders thinking that they must have some work to do. Just then, I hear loud screams and the word 'attack' feel my ears. I stiffen for a second but then run out of my room and run downstairs to see that everyone is panicking. "What's going on?" I ask no one in particular. "There are a group of rogues outside the packhouse and they are demanding to see the Alpha. But Alpha has gone to meet some investors and don't know when he will be back." Uncle Alex informs me. "Eloise and Mia, you take the elders and the females along with pups into the safe room." I order and they hurry to get the work done. "Ryker, you and hundreds of warriors stay inside the packhouse in case the rogues decide to attack." I tell and get a nod in response. "Uncle Alex, gather fifty warriors with you and come outside with me." I order but he shakes his head in denial. "I can't do that, Abigail. You are to be married in two days so I can't put you in danger." He replies making me clench my fist in anger. "Currently our pack is in danger so stop thinking about the damn wedding and do as I am telling you." I snap. I may not train like others warriors but as the daughter of the alpha, my first instinct is to save the pack. So without waiting for him I start walking out of the packhouse to see that more than twenty rogues are waiting in a fighting stance. Some of the warriors of our pack are guarding the packhouse which has blocked the rogues to get inside. "Step back warriors." I order loud enough for everyone to hear. They do as I have told and soon I hear footsteps coming behind me indicating that Uncle Alex has arrived along with other warriors. "State your intention of coming here." I demand confidently. One of the wolved transform into a man who walks towards where I am standing. Surprisingly, he isn't naked like other werewolves and that's something new. Still, I keep my curiosity at bay and look at the approaching man. "Hmm, so you are the Alpha's darling daughter." The man comments looking up and down at me. "This is not the answer to my question." I retort glaring at him. "My, my what a feisty little thing you are." The nerve of this man! "If you don't want to get your head to remove from your body then answer the question you have been asked." Uncle Alex says standing beside me protectively. "I am here to meet Alpha Thomas and if he isn't here then I don't want to say anything. Just tell him that he only has five more months to fulfill his agreement or I will take it back which is mine from the very start." The rogue named Jacob says while looking at me before shifting back to his gray wolf and running out of there alone with his group. Shock will be a simple word to describe the feeling I have become I don't understand what dad has promised a rogue and on top of that why that man is looking at me like I am his property. Just the thought is enough to make me shudder in disgust. "Are you okay, Abigail?" Uncle Alex asks putting his hand on my shoulder. "Yeah, I am okay. Do you know him?" I ask looking at my Dad's beta. "Frankly speaking I have never heard of him but something about him is very familiar yet, I can't pinpoint what it is." He answers making me sigh. "Let Dad come and then we can tell him everything. He must have answers to our questions." I reply making him nod his head. Without wasting any more time we get inside the packhouse and assure everyone that the situation is under control. After that, I go to my bedroom and decide to take a bath because the stare of that man is making me feel uneasy. I take off my clothes and get inside the bathroom after wrapping my long hair in a shower cap. I feel the bathtub with lukewarm water before getting into the bathtub. I take a washcloth and put a generous amount of body wash on it. I clean my body thoroughly as if wanting to remove the stares of that nasty man. "Do you think the rogue was saying the truth?" Emery asks through our special mind link. "I don't know, Em. But why would he come here if he wasn't saying the truth knowing that we could kill him and his group of rogues." I reply draining the soapy water and filling the tub with clean water. "That's why I am so puzzled. I have a feeling that Dad has been hiding something big from us." She lets out making me hum. "I just hope whatever it is, it's not going to be something severe that can destroy the pack." I reply. Leonard's POV:- I am walking around the packhouse looking over the preparation that is going around in the honor to welcome the new luna of the pack. There are only two days left for the wedding so everyone is in hurry to get everything sort out in time. Although I am not happy with the wedding, I have to think rationally as the alpha of the pack. Unfortunately, Mom has told Sarah that she is going to have a new mommy and since then my princess hasn't stopped talking about her new mother. I am not liking the idea of sharing my precious daughter with an unknown person but if my daughter accepts her as her mother, then I don't think I can do anything about it. "Alpha, there is a situation in the Mighty Crescent Pack." Samuel informs standing beside me. "What is it?" I ask halting in my movement. "There was a sudden rogue attack on the pack when Alpha Thomas wasn't present. However, nothing severe happened as Abigail, your fiancee took care of the matter with ease." He replies making me quirk an eyebrow at him. "You don't have to call her my fiance, you can just say Alpha Thomas's daughter." I retort with a huff. "Did you really just hear the part 'fiance'?" He asks looking at me in disbelief. "I have heard everything you just said. But if there is nothing severe damage happens then I don't think we have anything to worry about. It's a common thing to get attacked by rogues." I reply nonchalantly. "Aren't you a bit worried about your soon-to-be wife's welfare?" He asks as if I have lost my mind. "Why will I? She is an alpha's daughter so she must be strong enough to keep herself safe. Also, I have other important things to do than to worry about someone whom I have never met before." I answer while giving him a look to say that 'stop asking any more questions. Thankfully, he doesn't say anything anymore and start talking about business. Oh, I think I have forgotten to mention that he is also the COO of my company. Whenever I am not in the town to run the company or the pack, he is the one who steps into my duty. But I feel bad for him sometimes, he is also twenty-six years old and still hasn't found his mate. He has gone to many packs, even human areas in search of his destined mate. However, luck is not in his favor. I just wish to Moon Goddess that she will help him to find his mate. About the deal with Richard Johnson, that has been signed after I threaten him to expose his dirty secret to his wife. However, I am still going to send the proofs to his wife because I hate cheaters and on top of that, he also has a daughter with someone else than his wife. After making sure that everything is running smoothly in the packhouse I decide to go back to my mansion because I am missing my adorable daughter. It's already four hours since I've seen her cute self and I can't wait any longer. So, without further delay I walk fast towards the mansion. Upon arriving in the mansion, I ask Martha about Sarah who replies that my daughter is in her playroom. So, I directly go there and find her drawing something on a piece of paper. However, when she notices me, she hides the paper under her giant teddy. "So what are you hiding, baby girl?" I ask sitting beside her. "Me no tell." She replies while rolling her eyes at me. "But that's not good. You shouldn't hide anything from Daddy." I tell her faking a sad tone. She looks hesitant at first but after some time she takes out the paper from under the teddy and hands it to. Although whatever she has drawn can not be considered a proper drawing, but I like to pretend that I understand what she has drawn. "Wow, this is so good." I praise her. "Rweally?" She asks hope shining in her eyes. "Yes, baby. You are such a great artist." I reply placing a kiss on her forehead. "Me gib this new mommy. So she no go like mommy Gwace." I stiffen hearing my daughter's words but compose myself not wanting to hurt her feelings. "I am sure your new mommy will love this gift." I tell her making her smile brightly at me. My daughter hasn't even meet Abigail and already referring to her as mother. I don't know what's going on to happen in the future because it's not easy to accept someone else's child as your own. I just hope that Abigail will love my daughter as her own because if she doesn't then I don't think there will be any future of us together.
