I knew he wanted to do more, but I also knew he needed to take things slow. He had to rebuild his strength. I had talked with Doctor Walker and Gunner, who I found out were together, and Gears' parents. Doctor Walker warned me that he would not want to sit still for long, and Gunner told me things Jax would be able to do that would help him rebuild his strength. He told me how he had been shot in just about the same spot in his chest when he was in the army and just about Jax’s age. And even though both of them told me not to worry, I did. I wanted him to be okay again. So even though he let me cook dinner and allowed me to clean up, I knew he hated it. When I was done, I decided to make it up to him, though.
