Chapter Nine Vernal Developments Saturday was the solstice, the longest day of the year – and the official beginning of summer. Five days after seeing his stepdaughter in the flesh (and even getting to grab a handful of that) Al Sawyer stood in a grassy field. He was about a mile down the road from the mansion he’d married into – and about five from where the t**t was hiding. Still on Meade property, Al had pulled his vehicle a hundred yards up an access spur to provide a little privacy. Behind him was parked another behemoth SUV belonging to this Tyler Maddox, the contractor Jim Brooks had brought along. The three of them were meeting for a demonstration of the man’s specialty. Initially skeptical (the guy couldn’t be over twenty-five), Al felt his enthusiasm growing by the moment. S
