CHAPTER 6Kendra had never seen such luxury. Abbess Jane's and the senior nuns quarters on the top floor of the monastery were everything the vow of poverty forbad. There were proper rooms with beds inside rather than the open ended cells and narrow bunks she slept in, a living quarters with soft couches, tables and mats on the floor while the kitchen had a cooking stove with firebox beneath, a well stocked larder of food, some so exotic she didn't even know the names of the sweet smelling herbs and spices.
