ELIJAH’S POV:
I stand behind Catherine, my hands clenched at my sides. I’ve been trying to ignore the gnawing suspicion building inside me, but it has grown too insistent, too overwhelming to be brushed aside any longer.
"Tell me," I begin, my voice strained with urgency. "For one last time, I deserve the truth. What is the nature of your relationship with Knox Montemayor?"
Catherine’s continued silence only fuels my desperation.
"Don't you dare ignore me, Catherine!" My voice rises, laced with frustration and desperation. "Based on the look of it, there's something going on between you and that Montemayor. Don't deny it, he’s the one who’s helping you with our divorce, right?!"
Still, Catherine says nothing, her silence cutting deeper than any words can. And then, in a moment of jeal
