The massive black bird was illustrated in the book rather accurately, and this dude called Henry Oclave even named it. He called it 'Great Pantomime Raven', a mutated species of bird that preys on animals on the ground. According to the note, it is a solitary hunter and a very smart one at that. There were more notes below the illustration, which fascinated me like a kid seeing caricatures on a book for the very first time. I took my time to marvel at the book, and I almost forgot where I was and what circumstance I was in. It was a good thing that most of the written text was still readable, except for some words and terms that I could not understand what it meant. I think they are scientific terms and abbreviations and I wished Bridgette was still awake so that I can ask her about it. B
