Kissing and holding each other was as intimate as Mark was willing to be with Paul for the next couple of days. By mutual consent, they were taking their budding relationship slowly.
“After all,” Mark had pointed out, “we’re in somewhat of an odd situation here. Tension and being forced to live together in the middle of nowhere could be coloring our feelings. I don’t think it is,” he’d added quickly when Paul started to protest, “but still, let’s not rush this. Okay?”
Paul had admitted Mark was right, albeit somewhat reluctantly, so they confined themselves to small, mutual shows of affection.
