Chapter 7 Ernie sat at his desk, staring blankly at the computer. The events of the previous night and that morning were taking his focus away from the accounts receivable program he had been assigned to develop. I probably should have called in sick, he thought. But after the confrontation he’d had with mommy dearest when he’d come home to change clothes for work, the thought of spending the day at home with her was less than palatable.
