Immortal

-   *   The people of the farmlands have evacuated. The men and women escape in fear of getting caught in the fight. They have left a lot of things behind to escape sooner but they're not as important as their lives. Some could not detach themselves but the others are quick enough to stop them from going back.    The noble of this land, Ammar, stayed behind to confirm something that's been bothering his mind for hours since the fight started. He risks his life running on the battlefield riddled in craters. More explosions happen from afar as he goes on to where Jasper and the others are. They notice him approaching and just wait until he's near enough.   “Oh, Ammar!” Jasper calls.   Ammar is panting, pushing against his knees. “So, you're back... and who's—”   “That's your daughter that our lady is fighting.” He grins.   “Are you certain?!”   “Kind of. I tricked her the other day into thinking that you are there in the swamp to talk to her. Based on how she reacted, it's likely that you two are related. And yeah, she can heal very fast. She's the Goddess of Immortality.”   “We have to stop them!” Ammar cries.   “Why?” asks Jasper in a chuckle. “Can't you see they're having fun?”   “K*lling each other? No! Please, stop them!”   “No, I won't do it. Our lady will kill me. If you badly wanted to, then do it yourself. I've done what I can here.” He closes his eyes leaning against the tree again.    Ammar is frustrated with the way he turns around. He runs to the raging battlefield without regard for his life.    “Who's that?” asks Gwen.   Jasper answers, “Just an old random guy. Not important.”   “You said that goddess is his daughter.”   “I did.”   “And?”   “Just leave alone for a while, Gwen, geez... Go make out with Philip or something.”   “What?!!” she and Philip react violently.   “You guys haven't seen each other for a while, right?”   “What are you talking about?” asks Philip.   “I thought you guys are together now?”   “Together?!!” Gwen jolts out. “We're not and never will be!”   “Ouch,” Icarus teases, poking Philip with his elbow. He laughs with Jasper.   “Stop it, both of you!” Philip growls.   “Just don't give them attention, Philip,” says Hiroki. “They'll tease you more if you give them attention.”   So, he did and Jasper goes back to rest.    The clash between Sayuri and Zoya rages on, seemingly unending. None of them wants to give ground to the other. They have realized how formidable both of them are. So, their fight is getting more violent as time goes by.   “Zoya!” Ammar yells from below. They ignore him and continue fighting. “My daughter! Please stop fighting!”   “NEVER!!!” she screams, sending a powerful punch at him.    Sayuri is quick to summon swords to build a shield, saving him from getting injured. This one intervention allows Zoya to deliver a clean hit on Sayuri's forehead. The mace cuts her forehead but heals right away as she crashes on the ground.   “Why do you even care for him?!!” Zoya roars.   As always, Sayuri stays quiet about her thoughts and this frustrates Zoya. She uses this anger to fuel her every blow until Sayuri is overwhelmed.   “Myth of the Sixteen Maces!!!”    Sayuri is surprised by the sudden heaviness in the air Zoya creates. She too prepares her own.   “Sword of Fourteen: Millenium—”    She's too late to strike when Zoya has already dealt the blow. She hits Sayuri in the stomach, spraying bl**d to the surrounding soil before she gets blown away, crashing into a hill.    Zoya turns her scowl at Ammar. The shield made out of swords collapses, presenting him to her. He swallows in fear as she prepares to strike him down. At that moment, a violet fire slice parries her. It was from Sayuri from afar. Her wounds are on fire as they heal. Her fire is hotter and brighter than before.   “Don't interfere!” cries Zoya. “He's the greatest man on this planet! He deserves to die!”   “I'm sorry for everything I've done, Zoya!” Ammar kneels, pleading.    “What you've done can never be forgiven! I should've k*lled you a long time ago!”   “Forgive me, my daughter!” he pleads.   “Don't call me that! I'll never be your daughter. I always wished that my veins are filled with mud instead of your filthy bl**d!!!” He sobs, hurt by the words she threw at him. “Stop that! As if a person like you have feelings!”   She dashes forward to finish him but Sayuri is faster. She's in time to block her mace with her katana. The clouds above dissipate when the shockwave reached them.    “Stay away from this!” Zoya roars.   Sayuri pushes her away to a distance. She says, “Daughter killing her father? Bad idea.”   “As if you would understand! You'll never understand the pain, seeing your mother die in front of you!”   Narrowing her eyes, Sayuri remembers that dreadful day. “Trust me, I do.”   “Then you understand how that man deserves to be punished! I'll start with him so I won't forget. Then I'll wipe you out along with that red-haired b*stard and everything you hold dear!!!”   “Zoya!” Ammar interrupts. “I've always wanted to meet you. I want to make up for the things I've done wrong!”   “Then die! Die like what you did to my mother!    Sayuri narrows her eyes at him. He swallows because he accidentally exposed his goes in front of her.   “Also, I'll sl*ughter all of your wives!” Zoya swears. “So you may never find peace even in death!”   For a moment, Sayuri looks at Ammar behind her. Then she turns to look at Zoya again. “Family should always look after each other, not kill. However, I'm not your family. If you wish to live, vow that you leave your father alone as well as my friends.”   Zoya laughs madly. Her cackle echoes throughout the decimated plain. The tears are flowing from her eyes as she laughs. Sadness, anger, and laughter, all mixing inside her chest. She doesn't know what to feel.   “Run while you can, girl,” she threatens, taking a stance. “You don't wanna get in my way.”   Sayuri prepares her own. Her sword is back in its sheath. Seeing this, Jasper nods at Gwen. She starts praying. Both of them gather every ounce of their strength into this moment. This is gonna be their last clash. Although far, Jasper and the others are aware of this. They can sense the massive amount of power they're gathering.    “Should we get out of here?” asks Hiroki, sweating profusely.   “Too late,” says Icarus. “all of you, take cover!”   They take cover behind the trees. A flash of light explodes at where Sayuri and Zoya are. The rumbling reaches Hiroki and the others, followed by a powerful shockwave. The trees could not handle it. They collapse over Jasper and the others. Icarus and Philip protect Jasper, Arina, Hiroki, and Gwen from debris. Soon, they realize that they are in mid-air. Hiroki is gravely injured, unlike the others who aren't humans. Philip uses his boots to get to him before crashing.    Once they're on the ground, everything seems to be deafeningly quiet. It could be because of the destruction they had just witnessed. It makes everything else quieter.   Above the surface of the sun, the golden god on a golden throne notices something odd. He tightens his grip on the arm of the throne.   “Zoya,” he mutters. “who defeated you?” He narrows his eyes, setting his gaze on the planet Mars, hundreds of millions of miles away.   “Hiroki's injured!” Philip yells. The others group up with him. Jasper is the last one to arrive.   “Oh, no!” Gwen exclaims in horror.    Hiroki's arms are broken. His face is covered in bl**d and his left foot is cut. They hurry to dress up his wounds but Jasper is just standing by, rubbing his chin.    “What should we do?” asks Philip.   “Hurry up,” says Jasper. “I'll bring him to Hyun. I just need Gwen's prayers. Arizona, come with me. You two,” He refers to Gwen and Philip. “stay and help Lady Sayuri. The fight must've ended now. Wait until Hyun arrives. I'll tell him to come here to aid her if ever she's injured.”   Once they're done aiding Hiroki, Jasper turns into a griffin. Gwen prays for him and they fly as soon as they can. That leaves Gwen and Philip, finding out if their lady won. They are far away so they have to run back where they came from to see.    There's no fighting anymore but dead, silent air. Both of them are focused on the suspense they feel. They're not sure if Sayuri won and they try to convince themselves to think without a doubt that she did. In the middle of the battlefield, there is the biggest crater ever. No one or nothing is there but violet fire and molten rocks.   “Where do you think she might be?” asks Gwen as both of them are standing before a cliff. They look down and it's nothing but a sea of violet fire.   “Follow me,” he says. He leads the way, going counter-clockwise around the massive crater.   Soon, they break off from the cliff and go deeper into once was a forest. Logs are on fire and expelling tons of smoke. The cracking of the logs and roaring of the fire are making so much noise.    “I can sense her,” she mutters and thought Philip didn't hear her.   “Yeah, we're near,” he says.   “I feel weak.”   “Why?”   “I used too much of my powers today.”   “Don't worry. We're not that far.”   They jump over a wall of fire and land on a hill. That's where they saw her far and above the fire. Sayuri is riding on her wide sword. Her whole body is engulfed in violet flames. Her sword is still unsheathed. Her eyes are glowing bright that making her face look covered in shadows.   “My lady!” yells Philip. “Are you okay?”   She turns to him and fear suffocates his lungs. It's like she wants to kill him. But a second later, her fire slowly dies down. She descends to where they are. All of the fire is extinguished as soon as she lands. She has wounds all over her body and by far a nasty one under her left ear. It's a mark of the mace that Zoya used.    “You're injured!” exclaims Gwen as she catches Sayuri before she could fall face-first onto the ground. Gwen sits and lets Sayuri rest on her lap.   “Quick!” Philip rushes to tear a part of his shirt. “We need to stop her from bleeding!”   “I thought she can heal herself!”   “She can but I think that last attack drained her so much. Can your prayers help her?”   “I'll try.” She prays for Sayuri. Grim takes over her face. “Oh, no... I think my power isn't enough. ”   “Just try. I'll be here to watch over you.”   She nods and trusts him. So, she closes her eyes and prays. White light comes out of the slits of her eyes, illuminating her eyelashes. Then she never opened her eyes again but falls unconscious. He catches her while Sayuri, still on her lap, frowns a little. Her wounds heal slowly and didn't heal thoroughly. At least, the bleeding has stopped.   He's done covering Sayuri's wounds and let the two goddesses lie down on the ground covered with ashes that once were grasses.   *   -
