-   *   “Why does he have to do that?” he asks.   “Because it's... his job.” She couldn't help but sound hesitant because she also doesn't know.   “I hate him!” he rages, getting out of her grip, and lies on the bed face-first. His voice is muffled and his tears are being absorbed by the mattress.   Aiko sighs again and sits on the bed. She could almost cry, feeling the same loneliness her son feels. “But I'm the mother,” she thinks to herself. “I can't be weak.” After clearing her throat, she says, “You want to hold Dad's sword?” He cries as hard as he has been doing but slowly turns into infrequent sobbing. “Come on, I'll allow you to bring it out since there's only the two of us here.”   She lifts him from the bed and he says, “Okay.”   On her lap, he sits as she opens her relic bag, pulling out the sheathed sword from it. The bag is small but has special properties to store a lot of things. His eyes marvel with little trace of tears left in her eyelashes. At least his sobbing is now gone.    “Don't open it or you'll cut yourself, okay?”   “Okay,” he nods, smiling and sniffling.   He plays pretend in the room while she entertains him. The bright smile is back on his face. This too brings back the warm smile on her face. However, since it's her place as the mother to worry about everything, she could not smile as brightly as him. Even so, this is a moment of relief if it's any.   In the bathroom, they take a shower together and for him, it's magic. “Where does the water come from, Mom?” he laughs, his voice echoing in the bathroom.   “From the pipes,” she answers. “Try to sense it.”   He closes his eyes and feels where the water is coming from. “Wow! There's something ‘brrrring’ in it!”   “It's called a pump.”   “Is it magic?”   “No, son. It's made by humans.”   “Wow!” Them he pouts his lips in confusion. “What're humans?”   “Listen, you and I are deities. We have powers, right?”   “Yeah. You, Mom, go, ‘ching ching ching’ while my power goes, ‘wshhh wshhh’!!”   “Yes, that's right but my power is called Teleportation. So, I'm called the Goddess of Teleportation. While you, my little boy,” She rubs his head with shampoo. “are the God of the Sea.”   “Sea?” he asks, controlling the water to wash his hair.   “Yes. You have the power to control the sea and can make rain.”   “Wow, cool! But how can I make rain?”   “I can't teach it to you yet, dear. Wait until you get bigger. So, eat a lot, okay?”   “Okay!” he nods, smiling.   “Then humans are different. They don't have powers like us.”   “Then how did they make the water ‘wshhhh’?”   “They make it with their hands, Dany. That's what makes them unique.”   “Humans are cool!”   “Yes, they are, Dany.” She remembers Leo—being the first person that comes into her mind when she hears about humans. “But promise me, Dany. Don't tell anyone about our powers nor show them, alright?”   “I promise.”   “Instead, tell them we're demigods who don't have powers.”   “What's a demigod, mom?”   “Like Dad. He's a demigod.”   “But he can ‘ching’ like us.”   “I'll explain when you get older. But right now, all you have to know is that Dad is a demigod. He's very strong but he doesn't have powers like us.”   “I don't understand.”   “It's okay. Soon, you will.”   *   -   "Hey, I almost died there! You guys abandoned me!" "What?" Philip asks. "You expect us to carry you and run? You're not a baby!" "Yeah, but-" "Hey guys," says Sander, looking up. "The bull is looking at us." I look at the bull. Its big, panting nose pointing at us.  "Yeah, but it wouldn't dare to jump here," says Philip.  "Are you sure?" I ask.  "Of course! This is not the first time I encountered this same bull and jumped on this rock. It chased me when I was walking to go to the Academy." I feel a little relieved. I looked at the bull again. "It looks kinda dumb," I mock.  "Yeah!" laughs Sander. "You hear that, bull? You're dumb!"  We laugh at it. It turns around to go somewhere else, but what is this? Why do we see his butt?  "Oh crap!" yells Philip as the bull let out its crap and rained down on us! We can't dodge, because we are barely even standing on the rock that is good for the three of us. The crap splatter on Sander the most, and some of the crap went to my face, it is warm and smells bad!  "No!" Sander gross-out. "Yuck!" Philip yells in disgust. While all I could say is, "Ughhhhhhhh!" The bull leaves mooing that I think is its laugh. "Curse you, cow!" Sander swears. "He's a bull!" Philip argues. "Same thing!"   I feel thirsty. The water in the river is not safe to drink but it'll be a good idea to swim and wash off the bullcrap from me.   -   *   “Wa...ter...,” Leo mutters, lying on Yanmei's lap. Both of them have Tartarian Steel wrist braces.   “Hang on, Leo,” she tells him, wiping his sweaty forehead. “Hey!” she shouts through the metal bars of their cell. “He needs water!”   The person is in the shadows, leaning against the wall. He steps into the light, half-smiling. He half-smiles, looking at Leo suffering. It's Guiseppe. He says, “I never thought a simple god like me could defeat the God of Gravity that easily. However, you're lucky that you can use Strong Force. If not, it would've saved me a great deal in finishing both of you.”   *   -
