THE OFFER.

“What did you say?’ she inquired as she yelled at me. “Ivy, tell me. What did you just say? Repeat it. Say it again.” She ordered, but I kept my lips sealed. At least she can’t force me to open my mouth to speak. “Ivy, I’m talking to you,’ she rigidly let out. “Answer me?’ “You want me to say it,’ I sarcastically said. “Yes, say it,’ she conceded and nodded, eager to hear the next thing that I’m going to let out to her. “I said, my mother, my ass,’ I recounted boldly without hesitation to her face, and she gave me another sound smack across my cheek, and that’s what also made me snap at her. “Don’t you dare slap me again,’ I snapped? “You don’t have the right to slap me.’ I shouted. “Then, who has the right to do that, then, you ungrateful child? So, what were you trying to say, that I sell my body to men and that I’m a slut, giving my v****a to different types of men, right,’ she chuckled and told my arm and squeezed it so tightly and chuckled. “You just insulted your mother, biting the hands that fed you; huh, how dare you?’ “Let me go,’ I firmly uttered, furrowing my brows. She ignored me and smirked, but I could see the pain in her eyes as she continued. “Those different types of men that you see me with, fed you, and they are the reason that we are not thrown out of the street, or else we would be beggars by now. But you, what did you do to contribute to the expenses, rather you sat down in your bed, in your room all day, doing nothing and crying over somebody that cheated on you and moved on with his life?” “Stop it, mom,’ I solemnly warned. “Stop it; it’s not funny.’ “It’s not funny, right? You didn’t realize that it wasn’t funny when you insulted me to my face and called me a w***e,’ she shrieked. “I got someone that I’ve fallen in love with, who took good care of me, footed all the bills, took me to nice places, and treated me like a woman in front of people for the first time in my life. He shows me off to anyone he meets, and he is proud of me. And he even wants to get married to me. What did your wretched son of a b***h of a father do for me? Instead, he brags all day and pollutes the air with his smelling ass every day. When was the last time he ever treated me like his wife? When was the last time he bought me something? No, instead he packed up his things and left you and me. He took away everything without giving a second thought about you; it was me he quarreled with, right? Yet, he didn’t care about you and divorced me and ran away without paying for child support, and only the heavens know where he is right now.” I forcefully pulled my arm away from her. “And you stand there and say that. I don’t have the right,’ she hissed at me. “Yes, sweetheart. I have the right to slap the hell out of you when you are such a dumb and stupid child. Sometimes I wonder what kind of child you are. Better fix your problem and stop having daddy issues.' She was right about my father, but that doesn’t justify her actions. “At least, I’m not like you, who give yourself to men. What kind of mother are you? You have no dignity in you, and you want to... She was filled with rage, and she wanted to slap my cheek again. I raised my hand to block my face from her hand and attempted to use my other hand to hold her hand when Kai came between us and held both of our hands and sighed. Here comes the f*****g hero. “I don’t know if you want to continue this bickering and quarreling between yourselves, but you guys are so loud, and I reckon that the neighbors will be coming to our doorstep by now to relay a complaint about the noise that we are creating here. So you guys gotta stop this.” "Keep wondering what kind of child I am because you caused this, and don't talk about Father that way." I yelled. I hated my father so much, hearing his name shivers my body with anger, and I don't ever wish to see him again. He ruined my life, robbed off my childhood life, and didn't give a damn, leaving me at the roadside. Is that the kind of man I will call a father? "Can you stop this, Ivy?' Kai calmly uttered. And looking at him now, he was quite dashing; why was he looking so good this morning? I fumed, forcefully pulled my hand away from him, and fixed my collars. "Don't be mad at us, Kai. Your stepsister is just being ungrateful after everything I had done for her,' she began sobbing in front of Kai, wiping off her fake eyes. "I'm not his stepsister." I corrected her. What in the f*****g world? Damn. "Sorry for crying; it's always this way when I feel too emotional,'' she said, giving a sad smile, and I just shook my head. I wasn't buying that; she was just being too fake, and I don't like it. Emotional. I scoffed. I can't even remember the last time my mom cried. Emotional, be damned. "It's alright,' he smiled. "Why don't you go inside and take a cool bath? Before Father sees you like this, he wouldn't want to see his woman with tears in her face. It's ruining your makeup." He softly suggested "Thank you so much; you are such a dutiful son. I wish I gave birth to someone as handsome as you,' she replied sweetly and secretly glared at me. "Thanks, Nelly,' he laughed. My mom nodded and left the both of us alone, eyeing me. A son as handsome as him—how pathetic—he doesn't even call you "Mother" doesn't that also mean he doesn't accept her as his mother? Kai faced me, smiling, and folded his hands across his chest. "What the hell do you want?" I snapped, and he came close to me, smirking. "I love your clothes; you look hot in them." "Is that the kind of stupid compliment you are supposed to be saying to your stepsister?" I frowned, and he just laughed at me. "I'm not buying that; you are Scarlet's boyfriend, and you are not supposed to be saying such a thing to me. Buzz off." I sarcastically attempted to walk away when he held my arm. "So, you accept me as your stepbrother." He chuckled. "It kind of feels weird, saying Stepbrother, just refer to me as your brother, since we are going to be family, anyway?' "I will never, till my last breath, accept you as my brother, nor as a family, jerk." Who knew my words were going to bite me in the ass someday? "Mhm. Are you jealous of me and Scarlet? I thought you hated being my stepsister, because you just said the word now, and I like it." He gently touched my shoulder and gave it a small squeeze, and his gaze fell on my ass. "Get your filthy hands off me." I demanded, biting my bottom lip and thinking of the next step to take for this i***t. "You got nice curves,' he commented. "Kai, I said get your hands off me; don't you f*****g understand a simple statement."
