[Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.] “Why?” Titus asked as he sat down on the park bench. After Blyth rejected his rose they walked in silence. Her feet walked on and carried her to the park. A park she had visited a lot when she was a kid. “Why what?” Blyth questioned sitting on a swing. “Why won’t you accept my rose?”  “Maybe your rose is ugly” Blyth teased. “You and I both know that is not true” Titus laughed. Blyth just sat there swinging like a little kid, her school problems not racing through her mind. Yet she thought about the problem sitting before her. Titus. She knew the exact reason she didn’t accept his rose. It was a symbol of a relationship Blyth wasn’t ready to embrace. “You know this rose is much like you” Titus got up from his seat and started pacing in a circle. ”How?” Blyth wondered. “Because this rose is beautiful and fragile yet it has thorns to protect itself just like you,” Titus said. Blyth continued to swing, taking in what Titus had said. Blyth looked down not wanting to look him in the eye. Titus stopped her swing and stood  in front of her. His tall figure towering over her.  Then he did something unexpected: he got on his knees before her. “Why do you have the need to protect yourself from me?” Titus pondered. “I-“ was all Blyth could manage to say. He took her chin between his thumb and forefinger and tilted her head to make her look him in the eye. Again this emotion shined through his eyes and the sparks went off, Blyth’s body was physically telling her to jump into his arms, but her head screamed for her to run away. With Titus being so close to her she managed to get a nice, good look at him. His dark black hair was messy like he had just rolled out of bed but still managed to look perfect reflecting the light from above. His jaw which seemed to be as sharp as glass, his muscular arms she desperately wanted to be wrapped in, he had a gorgeous sun kissed tan, and finally his stormy grey eyes that held so much pain that it made her heart hurt for him.  She understood now why all the girls swooned for him. It seemed surreal that he was sitting here with Blyth about a rose. “I told you before I won’t hurt you, let me in my little rose” Titus pleaded. His hand slid across the skin of her cheek to the side of her neck.He pushed hair from in front her face to behind her ear. That's when he saw a dark purple bruise forming on the side of her head. His jaw clenched and it seemed like his eyes got darker. ”Who did this to you?” Titus asked. ”N-no one I-i uh just fell a-and hit my head, ” Blyth stuttered out but Titus wasn’t buying it. ”Blyth,” Titus said, his voice low and dangerous ”who did this to you?”  ”I don't want you to think I'm pathetic” Blyth whispered if it hadn't been for his werewolf hearing he wouldn't have heard it. Titus’ demeanor softened seeing his mate say that. He took her hand in his and rubbed his thumb over her knuckles. The small gesture made Blyth’s heart soar maybe it was because of the mate bond but it was refreshing to have someone give her this type of affection. ”I don't think you're pathetic, and I won't ever think that ok?” Titus said, kissing her hand. Blyth blushed at this gesture and smiled a bit. ”You’re cute when you blush, now tell me, please”  ”It was this girl named Brittany James, she and Drew Oliver they’ve been bullying me for years, but the sad thing is I never fought back I just let it happen. So I guess it’s my fault-” Blyth started but was cut off by Titus. ”Don’t say that I don't care what you think, I know it is not your fault, and you can't blame yourself for someone else's actions” Again the words coming out of Titus’ mouth shocked, a man she had met less than a week ago was consulting her about her high school bully. ”Why are you being so nice to me, you don’t even know me? I'm a complete stranger to you yet you talk to me like you’ve known me forever.” Blyth said, trying to wrap her mind around the whole Titus situation. ’That’s what the mate bond does to you I guess’ Titis thought.  ”I don't know, I just feel a connection between us and I wanna give it a chance, uh yeah, I guess um,” He said, the tips of his ears turning pink. Blyth found it adorable that the big and bad Titus Grey was blushing. And technically what Titus had told her was true he just withheld some information.  After that the two of them spent hours in the park talking, laughing, and opening up to one another. Although Blyth wasn’t totally on board with the whole Titus situation but she was slowly starting to like the idea. Blyth found out a bunch of things no one else know about Titus, like his favorite color was gray ironically enough, he didn’t watch a lot of T.V. because he was always to busy with work, he and his mother were close but she sadly passed away a few years back and so many other things. But the thing she loved the most was when he told her he had never been in a serious relationship and that he wasn’t used to the dating game, he said it was because he hadn’t found the right person.  He had finally found the right person even if she didn’t know it yet. Once it got late Titus walked Blyth home glad to be in the company of his mate. Secretly he was over the moon that his mate wanted to be in his presence, she was getting used to the mate bond and him. “I had fun today” Blyth said stepping on to her porch. “I did too,” Titus said. A silence fell over the two but it wasn’t an awkward one, it was more like a comfortable one. “I better get going,” Titus said, he leaned down and gave her a sweet, sensible kiss and with that, he left.
