Chapter 12
Not long after their vows were completed, her labor accelerated. The midwives and healers tried to remove Cole from the cabin, but he would not leave Tarsha’s side. Instead, he held her hand and spoke words of encouragement as she struggled to bring their child in to the world. In the end, she gave birth to their son Mason just a few moments after midnight.
Child birth was very hard on Tarsha, though. The healers began their work the moment that the baby was born to bring her back to full health. The midwives swept Mason off while the healers did all that they could to fortify her. Through it all, Cole did not leave her side.
