PRESENT TIME - After so many years
Dawn Hadyn Boliver is a woman in her twenties. Long black hair, almond eyes, thin lips, and innocent face. Born in a small pack called Medicus Lupus and raised by an independent she-wolf who acquired some witchcraft skill. Dawn is the kind of woman that anyone could assume she's meek and vulnerable with the slim figure and fragile aura she has. But she's not what her face says. She's most skilled in combat and she's an archery genius.
This is the year 2030.
The lives of creatures like them are no longer hidden in forests but are now lived in the same way as people. And here in a small city of Frontier Vales lived a small pack of unusual creatures. It's not accurate to say they're wolves, although they regard their group as a pack, members of this are not only pure wolves, but tribrid, or mixed breed. Half wolf and half-vampire, half-vampire and half-human, half-wolf and half-witch, but Dawn are the most unique of all. She's got all the blood. She's a half-wolf and half-vampire, she's also a human and a witch. She's born mixed.
The humans are hospitable to them here in Frontier Vales. It is an urban place with a lot of trees and forested areas, thus while being civilized, it is appropriate for creatures like them. This is where Dawn got her day job. She's working in Vales as a vet. This job of her makes her feel like she belongs in this world - the human world. She can interact with humans while also doing what she enjoys, which is helping animals. Her customers love her, why not? She has that delicate, innocent-looking face that they can immediately trust.
" How are you doing here?" a knock on her door interrupted Dawn. She sees a smiling face peeping out from her clinic door. It's Nazily. Her mom. A 50-year-old wolf, fair skin and monolid eyes. She looks half younger than her age.
" Mom! You pass by!", Dawn welcomes her in a cheerful voice. Nazily draws near and bumps her cheeks on hers, " How's my daughter?", she asked.
" I'm doing fine here"
" You came by?"
" Yeah... because I check things nearby so...I went here too", Nazily said replied while making herself a coffee in the clinic's mini pantry.
Seconds after another knock on the door interrupted their little chit chats. An old woman carrying a tiny dog comes in. Dawn looks at her mom that's in the pantry. She must sensitive to the scent of dogs or other canid animals. Dawn catches a glimpse of Nazily's face as if angrily sniffing behind the divider cabinet. She stares at her as if telling her to calm down.
" Hello", Dawn warmly greeted the old woman. She has no problem like with the other wolves. Having human blood in her helps her balanced everything.
" Vet... my dog doesn't seem to eat lately. I'm giving her everything she needs to be healthy. I'm carefully taking care of her. I don't know what's the problem", the old woman said worriedly.
Dawn laid the dog on the table and get her things and checks her.
What's wrong with you? She asks the dog in her mind.
I'm sad. It's been a long time we haven't have a walk in the park. The dog replied.
Dawn burst a soft laugh.
" What?", the woman curiously asked.
" Gran... you're dog just needs some fresh air. You take her to the park for a walk", Dawn said.
The old woman pouted, " lately I was busy that she stays home all the time", she said.
" Thanks, Doc," the old woman gladly leaves the clinic.
Dawn exhaustedly sits on her chair. The Gran was her last customer today. She's the 50th to come today. She'll be closing now. It's late afternoon too. Dawn glances at her mom that's still in the pantry.
" Mom?", she calls her grinning wide, as if teasing her.
" What?" Nazily pouts.
" Nothing I was just checking your tolerance," said Dawn, chuckling.
Here in Frontier Vales. Dawn is known as the best animal doctor in town. Thanks to her ability to communicate with animals.
Meanwhile, in land located near the arctic, Black Fields is a city where the sun never rises, always covered with thick snow and giant juniper trees. The Immortal blood loves this place because here they are free. The physical condition of the city gives them the freedom to live like normal people. They need not hide in the daytime because here, there's not a thing they're scared of most - the sunlight. Yes, the sunlight. They don't like it because great exposure to it would cause them sickness or death.
Gazing at the snowfalls is Drake, a tall, earthy scent, pale, handsome vampire with eyes of fire.
What's behind that cloudy skies? Ever since I was young I would always wonder like this every time it's snowing hard. Drake thinks.
" I wonder what's the other side of this world", Drake whispers.
" You should not give in to your curiosities", Drucillus interrupts him. Drake turns at his dad. He just comes here. Yet, he knows why he's in here alone. It's one of the gifts to their bloodline, to be able to read minds. His dad can pop out here easily because creatures like them can move at a great speed like that of fast wind.
Drake ignores his dad. He chooses not to say a thing.
" Son, you're my heir. I don't want you to get hurt", Drucillus said patting his back.
" I told you the history of our clan. Curiosity costs life", his dad reminded him.
" I understand, dad", Drake replies.
That is his father's principle. The principle that's taking away their freedom. His ways are very traditional. The humans out there are now living changing and improving every day. Yet, their bloodline here in Black fields is still holding unto the tradition and practices of their ancestors. His dad would always tell them it's for their safety. Drake is thinking that maybe his dad had just been traumatized by what happened before and besides they can't live normally with the changing times because creatures like them have so many limitations to cohabitate with humans. It would be chaos and it could also be their end. So they choose to hold on to what could make them safer even if it would mean holding on to their ancient practices forever. This is what keeps them alive.
I'm lived up to 100 years because I obeyed my bloodline's practices. This is just okay. Drake thinks. He's a 100-year-old vampire with the face and a body of a 20-year-old man, young, well-built, attractive, and ruthless aura.
He's Drake of the Immortal Blood, a vampire heir to his father's throne.
Meanwhile, in the Mountainous, grassland region lies a kingdom. In the forlorn town in the city of Steeps, stands a magnificent old-modern castle. They call this town the Kingdom of Arzoc and claims themselves as the true bearer of Arzoc's blood, the legendary wolf ever lived.
" Why are they going out to the human cities?" Yuela raised her tone, frowning. It's one important rule to abide in their kingdom, do not go out and mingle with humans.
" Everything they need can be found in here? What's their purpose? Does the King know this?", Yuela asks successively.
The servants just keep their heads down afraid of meeting her gaze.
" What's going on?", Kai interrupted. He has just arrived from an important event. He's clothed in a magnificent fury brown coat, leather boots, pants, and brown crop top.
The servants bow at him.
" Greetings, Majesty King", the servants greet in chorus.
Kai smiles at them showing off the dimples on his face. He's the King of this Kingdom. Kai is born as a pure wolf, tanned skin, a well-built body, round brown eyes with a musky smell. He's the son of Arzoc and Yuela. He's hailed as the legendary wolf direct descendants.
" Mati ( mom) you should relax. They've grown up already. They know how to take care of themselves!", Kai said smiling. Yeula rolled her eyes, " whatever!", she sighed.
And then she walks out.
Kai didn't bother about her mom's temper. He proceeds to the balcony had sight of their land.
I will lay my life for this land as to how my father laid his. I know how he loves this kingdom and the numerous packs that are sheltering on this land. Never will I allow that dreadful past of our bloodlines to happen to us again. I will protect the wolves that are in here. We are the remaining descendants of Arzoc. I need to preserve my father's blood. That's my legacy. Kai thinks as he looks at the entire Kingdom from above.
" Wolf King!"
A voice of his commander interrupted him. Kai gaze at the middle-aged-looking man.
" The tournament is starting", the commander informs him.
Kai nods and smiles at him. Here in their Kingdom they always do tournaments in honor of his father's memory. Kai learned that Arzoc is fond of a tournament that he even uses that event to search for pack leaders or of the next King. That's what his mom told him.
Today is the graduation of the teen male wolves from the training. Yes, only male wolves. Here in their Kingdom the female wolves are meant for mating and supporting the Alphas. They aren't allowed to hold a sword or to join in events like this. That's their role. There aren't any powerful females in the Kingdom except her mom.
Yuela would always tell the she-wolves that she's their voice, that she's the voice of all the females in the Kingdom, and that to build a strong impenetrable land is to solidify their homes, their mates and their children, like supporting their mates so they could raise cunning, healthy and stronger wolves. And in this way, the bloodline of their greatest hero would continue.
And the she-wolves of the Kingdom gladly accepted that kind of culture.
The trainee wolves spin their spears on the dusty ground, their eyes turning green, growling as they show their fangs. They just have one chance in the arena to prove their strength. This is the weapon they are good at handling, the spear. This is something they can trust in battle aside from their sturdy sharp claws that can cut through flesh. They are werewolves. They can smell their enemies kilometers away from them. They are nightwalkers. They can survive both in hot or cold. There aren't afraid of sunlight and they love the moonlight. And because of these abilities they have. They regard themselves as the highest of all the bloodlines. They are the descendants of Arzoc and for them, humans are no different from weaker prey which they hunt in the woods.
" Whoooaaahh!!!"
Howlings...
The wolves are aggressively making sounds. The tournament is over. There is now a winner. Xaliq an Alpha from the largest pack proudly raises his spear. He won. And now he's going to be the King's personal commander. It is a great honor.
Kai rises from his seat and gladly claps his hands, motioning her arms wide showing a welcoming gesture to the winner.
While Yuela quietly smiles besides, glancing, thinking of how she has been successful in putting up this Kingdom.
Kingdom of Arzoc... she whispers in her mind as she savors the scent of the werewolves' roar.
Who could have thought that you will fall into my hands? Now, you are exactly how as I want it to be. Then, she glances at her claws. You are now under my full control. And this throne? The glory and honor... these will be forever mine. Yuela thinks.
Meanwhile on the far side of Frontier Vales lies the Medicus' secret haven which is located in the heart of the woods. That's what they like about this city. Its downtown is civilized, advanced, and progressive yet it had preserved its forests, which is favorable to them. Here is their secret haven is where they train every member towards achieving the fullest of the gifts given to them. Here in this place, there is one mentor they looked up to, Dawn, though young everyone looked up to her as the seasoned warrior of the pack. Besides the uniqueness of her bloodline is an advantage to the pack. They think they will be more protected by her. Yes, she's a she-wolf and she just shares half of all the blood, but she's the leader of this pack - the Medicus Lupus, all because she has something in her that no one in any bloodline has - the power to manipulate an organism's biological nature. The ability to heal not just herself but also the others.
