I saw Daemon try to slam the door shut, but four hands pushed it open. Before I could run over to help, I saw a blade with a thick, green goo pierce through Daemon’s skin. He clutched his side and screamed loudly. I stood there, frozen. His scream will haunt me for the rest of my life. Daemon fell to the floor, still clutching his side. “Run!” He grunted to me. His command broke me out of my haze and back to action. He had shown me a secret exit from his room, but I couldn’t leave him, not like this. Not with them.
