I would never marry Christina even if she was the last woman on earth and no matter how much I respected Angelo, I wouldn't do something this extreme for his sake.
"Pardon me for what I'm about to say Angelo but the truth is, Christina and I can never get married," I finally spoke up again and Angelo seemed taken aback by the fact that I had just directly rejected his daughter.
The smug look that Christina had on her face had disappeared completely and it was now replaced with a confused and disappointed expression that I found very pleasing.
