I woke up to a warm body pressed against my own. I smiled at the feeling I got every time I woke up to Morgan tucked into my side and the wonderful scent of warm vanilla cherries that drove my wolf insane and made me feel content and happy. I was overjoyed that I got to spend the rest of my life with Morgan, that I get to wake up to her, to laugh and live life to the fullest with her. I looked over at the clock on my nightstand noticing that it was ten already. I turned onto my side and pulled Morgan closer, her naked body flush against my own.
I kissed her temple and enjoyed the feeling of her against me. We stayed like that for about half an hour as I drifted in and out of sleep. Eventually it was my stomach growling that separated me from Morgan and caused me to get up. I made my way to the bathroom, turning the water on in the shower, waiting until it got warm enough before I got in. I loved the way the semi-hard water beat my shoulders and back, loosening all my muscles. I stayed like that with my head bent slightly forward and my hands braced on the wall allowing the steaming water to work its magic.
Twenty minutes later I stepped out feeling clean and refreshed. I wrapped a towel around myself before heading back to the bedroom. To my surprise Morgan was awake, sitting on the bed cross-legged. “Morning baby.” I said walking over to her side and planting a soft kiss on her forehead. “Morning love.” She replied smiling sleepily. I got dressed quickly my hunger growing. “I am going to make breakfast.” I said pulling a shirt over my head. I heard Morgan giggle. “What? What is it?” I asked confused. “I never knew you were an Ironman fan.” She said pointing at my shirt. “Oh.” I laughed. “Yeah I have been for years, loved the movies and the comics. I am a huge Marvel fan.” I said grinning.
“You coming?” I asked her as I walked towards the door. “Yeah I will be there in a minute.” She said. I nodded my head and walked out the room, down the short passage and into the kitchen. I opened the fridge and took out a pack of bacon and mini mutton sausages. I placed both of them on the counter by the stove as I grabbed six eggs which I cracked into a mixing bowl.
I threw in some mixed herbs, white pepper and salt before whisking it all together until the eggs were fully blended together. I grabbed a frying pan and placed it on the stove, waiting for it to heat up before I poured the eggs in. while I let the eggs cook a bit I put the bacon on a tray and popped it into the oven to grill. I took another pan, scooped a little butter into it and let it heat up as I started scrambling the eggs. When the buttered pan was hot enough I threw the sausages in to fry. I switched off the plate I was using to cook the eggs once the eggs were light and fluffy and set the pan aside.
I turned to the sausages, turning them over every five minutes or so, so that it was thoroughly cooked before switching off the plate it was on and setting the pan aside. I opened the oven door and checked on the bacon making sure that I get it crispy and not burnt when Morgan walked into the kitchen. “Wow something smells amazing.” She said taking a seat at the breakfast nook. “It is almost done.” I told her. “Good because my stomach is growling and my moth is watering.”
A few minutes later I took out the bacon, perfect in all its crispy glory. I dished everything up including the buttered toast, placing a plate in front of Morgan. “God this looks amazing baby.” She said. “I hope it tastes as good as it looks.” I said taking a seat next to her. “I am sure it will love.” She replied kissing my cheek sweetly.
We ate in silence. Once we were done I took our dishes to the kitchen and started cleaning up while Morgan made us coffee. We had settled into an easy routine that suited both of us. Once everything was clean and tidy we migrated to the lounge, taking our usual spots on the long couch that directly faced the fire place. “We should get supplies from town before we leave. I was thinking about asking Benji, Jess and Drew to come with. What do you think?” I asked Morgan taking a sip of my coffee. I was not surprised that Morgan had already finished hers.
“I think that is a great idea. Safety in numbers.” She agreed. “Exactly and they can help with getting your brother out of that pack.” I said. “I hear that Jess is very skilled in combat and that Benji is an excellent battle strategist.” She commented. “That is true. They are both skilled in their respective fields.” I took another sip of my coffee. “I will go ask them to join us then we can take my car down to town and get the supplies we will need.” I said draining my coffee.
Morgan got up, taking our empty mugs with her to the kitchen. “I will start getting everything ready and pack stuff that we will need that we already have.” She said. “Okay.” I said grabbing my jacket and opening the front door. “I will be back in an hour or so. I love you.” I told her. “okay, I love you too babe.” She said as I walked out the door, closing it gently behind me. I walked the short distance over to Benji’s house and knocked on the door, seconds later he opened it. He stood at his full six-and-a-half-inch height with only a pair of jeans on despite it snowing outside. Benji was handsome with dirty blond hair, deep brown eyes, well built body and a solid tan from the summer days in the force. But despite his looks it was his happy go lucky personality that took the cake. He was the perfect gentleman, well-groomed in his mannerisms and stead fast in his morals.
“Hey alpha.” He said smiling and stepping to the side to let me in. “Hey Benji, is Jess here too?” I asked walking into the warm house. “No but I can go get her quickly.” He said. “Please, I need to talk to you both. And can you get Drew as well? I need the three of you.” I asked him. “Sure thing. Is everything okay Cass? Is Morgan okay?” he asked concern written all over his face. “Everything is okay, we are both alright.” I reassured him. “Okay, I will go get the two ladies, make yourself at home.” He said walking out the door. I sat down on the one-seater closest to the fire place. I took off my jacket, throwing it over the back of the chair and got comfortable.
A few minutes later Benji walked in followed closely by Jess and Drew. I stood up. “Hey Jess, Drew. Thank you Benji and thank you two for coming.” I said. “No problem alpha.” Jess said smiling. “Alpha.” Drew greeted. “It is going to take some time to get used to getting called alpha.” I said smiling at the three of them as we all sat down, with Jess and Drew on the three-seater next to me and Benji on the one-seater in front of me.
“So what is this about Cass?” Jess asked. “Morgan wants to go to her pack’s ruins and to her parent’s graves.” I started. “Okay, but why did you call the three of us?” Benji asked. I took a deep breath before continuing. “Well you see Morgan wants to bring her brother here, away from all that abuse. He does not know the truth about his family or,” “Wait a second Cass, Morgan wants to save Jackson’s mate, Adam, and bring him here?” Drew asked. “Well, yes.” “That may start a war Cass.” Benji said. “I know but it needs to be done. And if we do it right, by the law, then we can avoid a war.” I said.
“Just think about it Benji, if that was Noah, your mate, you would do anything to make sure that he was safe.” Jess pointed out. “True, count me in.” he said. Jess and Drew looked at each other before saying, “Us too, we are in.”
We came up with a rough plan within half an hour before we settled on one that we all agreed on. Jess and Drew got up, hugging Benji and I goodbye until tomorrow when we planned to meet up and head out. “Hey Benji?” “Yeah Cass?” he asked closing the door. “Want to take a trip with me into town quickly to grab some supplies?” I asked him. “Hell yeah!” he said jumping up. I laughed at his excitement, grabbing my jacket and followed him out the door.
We decided to take my Dodge Challenger into town because it was best suited for driving over the icy roads and it would not draw unwanted attention to us. My car had a matt black paint job, the interior was almost entirely black, the seats a black leather as well as black plush carpeting throughout the car’s floor and roof. I started the car, loving the gentle purr it made when the engine came alive. She truly was a beast in the most beautiful way.
It took us twenty minutes to drive to town because of the icy roads. I pulled into a parking spot in front of the entrance to Walmart. The town itself was not that big, with a population under five hundred people excluding my pack. The only attractions that the town had were its amazing coffee at Heaven’s Brew, the movie theatre called Blockbuster and Me, the Lennon’s Arcade and Walmart. There was hardly any crime besides the petty incidents involving high school kids.
Benji and I got out the car and made our way into Walmart. Benji grabbed a shopping cart as we walked through the automated doors. We made our way down the wide and brightly lit aisles, pulling things off the shelves that we thought would come in handy including medical supplies, clothes and shoes for all of us as well as long lasting food supplies. Once we were done shopping we made our way to the check out. I paid for everything and we walked out, heading back to my car. We loaded everything into the car before getting in. I started the car and drove back to the pack grounds.
Once we reached the pack grounds I parked the car next to my house and got out. I opened the trunk as Benji stepped out of the car. We carried the packets into the house, setting them on the floor next to the breakfast nook just as Morgan walked out of the bedroom and down the passage towards Benji and I. “Hey Benji, how are you?” She asked. “Hey Luna. I am as good as can be. How are you doing?” “Oh boy it is going to take some time to get used to being called Luna.” She laughed. “Cass said the same thing.” Benji said smiling fondly at Morgan.
I put the last bag down and walked over to Morgan, kissing her. “You know I have never seen Cass like this, all soft and cuddly. She is usually such a hard ass.” He said jokingly. I punched his shoulder playfully. “Lier.” I said laughing. “Let us start packing.” I said to Morgan. “Thank you for everything Benji, we will see you tomorrow.” I said walking to the door. “Yeah at the ass crack of dawn.” He grumbled causing me to burst out laughing.
Benji was not a morning person, never has been, and neither was his mate Noah. Noah was part of the Hunters pack so we did not get to see him often. Benji and Noah worked together, that was how they met. Noah had just transferred to the force when his pack moved to the other side of town. Town was considered neutral territory for all packs in the neighbouring areas. The Hunters pack and the Shadow pack have a clear alliance and we respect each other’s territory.
I closed the door behind Benji and turned to face Morgan. “I missed you.” I told her. “I missed you too.” She replied. “Yeah? Show me how much you missed me.” I said suggestively. “Not now babe, we have a lot to do for tomorrow.” She reminded me. I walked over to her, kissing her before saying, “okay baby. Let us get to it.”
