Chapter 6 – Yet another piece of the puzzle
Kristen West
(Ella Marcus)
POV
I walked around Kristen and Blake’s massive house. This was not a house no, it would be better known as a mansion. I stopped in front a room it had beautiful double doors. The doors looked expensive… okay everything in this house looked expensive.
I pushed the doors open. It was not locked, good. I looked around in awe. It was a library. My God, it was a library. It was massive. It looked like a library on steroids. I loved books the main reason I became an assistant to an editor was that my dream was to be a chief editor in the future. I was not a writer. I was more of an edit someone else’s work type of person. I walked down the aisle aimlessly. I just admired the artisanship of the room and the books on the shelves; this must have cost a fortune. I did not recognise any of the authors. This world obviously different, it had different names for its countries. It was under a rule of a king and these people did not wear jeans not the woman were not allowed to wear pants. I have learnt a lot the past week I have been here.
I picked up a book, it was called how to slay a dragon, by Olivia West.
Was she related to Blake?
I read the info of the book.
Hmm. It’s not about an actual Dragon but how to overcome the obstacles. Interesting. I think I should read it.
“Mrs West are you looking for the albums?” someone asks from behind me making me jump slightly
I turned to see a woman in the maids uniform.
“Albums?” I ask curious. What type of albums were in a library
“Yes. Master West said you lost your memory. I assumed you were looking for the albums to try and retrieve your memories.” She says softly looking down “I’m sorry if I spoke out of my turn.” She goes onto her knees.
I help lift her up.
“No. No its fine. Can I see the albums?” I ask
Seeing those Albums might help me figure out some of the mysteries of this messed up movie I was stuck in.
“Of course come, come this way.” She says walking off.
I nod to myself because she was long gone. I followed her silently. We ended up in what looked like a lounge area. It had two tub chairs, a large coffee table and a small book stand next each chair across the two tub chairs was large leather three-seater sofa beige in colour. I imagine Kristen lying in that sofa reading books
She made me sit in the hot pink tub chair. She walked away soon thereafter. I looked around the lounge area. It looked like Kristen’s room so this was obviously built for her. The glass coffee table matched the dressing table in Kristen’s room. The chairs matched the two on the balcony on the balcony in her room. The room was painted in Kristen’s favourite colour. I had learnt was pink.
A few minutes later, the maid walked back into the lounge area again. With arms full of albums.
I silently went through all of the albums. It ranged from baby pictures of Kristen too pictures of her and Blake. The maid explained each and every picture, making me believe she was either there or knew everything about Kristen and Blake.
But something caught my attention in almost all of those pictures there was a little girl in every picture, she was in the background. She looked two years older that Kristen.
“Who is this?” I asked pointing at the girl
“That Miss Manning. Miss Manning comes from the old house with you, she was Cook Manning’s daughter. She was your handmaiden before you brought her with you to the West house, you sent her to school and you got her a job as well. You always provide Miss Manning with housing, and a monthly allowness. However after your accident Master West stopped the allowness and she was banned” the maid says
“What’s your name?” I ask her
“Lillabeth Mrs West” she says as she bows
I smile at her. She had a beautiful name. “Beth you have a lovely name. if I may call you Beth?” I ask
She bows “Of course Mrs West.” She says
I thought about Lillian so she worked for Kristen’s family? Kristen provided for her lifestyle and she had the nerve to kill Kristen?
Why would she hate Kristen when Kristen was so kind to her?
My head started to hurt, it was as if someone stabbed me in the head. I screamed out in pain clutching my head.
All I could remember was the pain. It hurt so damn much I passed out from the pain.

Fourteen-year-old Kristen London
POV
(A part of Kristen’s Memory)
I sneak into my father’s office. My father had taken my phone away because I had failed my curtsy classes. I hated those classes and I did not like bowing to men.
I didn’t need to impress men when Blake had promised to marry me when he returns from Okren where he would be at university for the next four years. I wanted to get my phone back to wish Blake good luck. I had to speak to him before he leaves. I just had to.
I searched my father’s desk; I knew exactly where my father hid it. I got my phone out of the desk and I was about to leave the room when I heard voice. I quickly hid behind my father’s bookshelf.
“I am telling you Marcello I will not be blackmailed by her! She will not control my life. She was a woman I slept with before my marriage. I will not destroy my marriage for her!” My uncle shouted
“You could be taken away by the kings guard for this Greg please think about this…” my father pleaded with my uncle
“I will not accept the daughter of a mere cook as my daughter. it would bring grave shame to the London name. Besides the child will be known as a bastard.” My uncle says
“Gregory she is accusing you of taking advantage of her. If word got out the Kings guard will throw you behind bars no questions asked. You know the rule on woman abuse is since Queen Olivia was abused growing up.” My father says
“That woman will not get a cent from me.” My uncle says ignoring my father’s pleas.
“Lillian is a beautiful girl who needs her father brother.” My father says softly
“I shall not have her blackmail me into accepting this child. Mira will leave me with my two boys. I will not have shame brought to the family name. Kristen is and will remain the only heiress. That shall not change anytime soon!” My uncle shouts. Shortly after I heard the door slam shut. I flinched at the sound
I heard my father sigh aloud.
Lillian was my uncle’s daughter. That would make her my cousin. My only female cousin. She was family. I shall treat her as such in the future. I will give her the life she deserved having London family blood running through her veins. I would make sure she never felt left out. I could never tell her or anyone about what I heard today. It would ruin the family name and my father would find out I sneaked into his office to call my fiancée. Blake promised me we would be together forever. Maybe I could tell him. He promised me we could tell each other everything. But I wasn’t sure I could tell him about this.
